HYDERABAD: Justice Surepalli Nanda of the Telangana High Court has directed the Registrar of Osmania University not to insist on penalty fees for students who will be attempting to clear backlog papers. Justice Nanda issued the order after hearing a petition filed by K Pramod, a student, challenging the notification issued by the university on December 5, 2022.

In this paper, the images of a straight edge in coherent illunination, produced by an optical system with annular apertures and apodised with Lanczos amplitude filters, have been investigated. It is well-known that use of highly coherent light produces the unwanted edge ringing effects. The effects of apodisation in litigating the deleterious ringing is well-known. In this paper, we have studied the joint effects of apodisation and aperture obscuration on edge ringing and its associated effects for annular optical systems apodised by Lanczos filters. Diffraction-limited, aberration-free rotationally symmetric systems have been considered. Circular apertures have been studied as a limiting case of annular apertures.

A workshop shed on the university campus that had been abandoned for three decades has now been converted into the Civil Service Academy. It was University Vice- Chancellor Prof D Ravinder Yadav who proposed the establishment of the academy in this abandoned shed.

Soon, the Civil Service Academy on the university campus would also have upgraded infrastructure, including a library, security, Wi-Fi, and other facilities, allowing students to study for competitive examinations round the clock.

"Since a majority of our students come from low-income or underprivileged families, they are often hesitant to set lofty goals. Whenever I ask our students what they want to do, they say they want to be teachers or do small jobs. However, I believe that it is important to dream big in order to achieve big things, so I want my students to dream big and achieve great things in life. So we decided to establish this academy so that our students who come to the university as students could indeed leave as competent civil servants", Dr. Ravinder Yadav told NewsTAP.

"We needed a large space to set up an academy for civil service aspirants now that we had decided to open one. We chose to establish the Civil Service Academy in a long-abandoned workshop shed on the university campus. When I first visited the shed, it was in disrepair and even impossible to enter, but we had completely transformed it into a beautiful academy within eight months," said Prof Ravinder Yadav.

Dr Ravinder Yadav told NewsTAP, "The university spent Rs 2 crores on setting up the academy, and Rs 5 lakh was sponsored by the Telangana State Council for Higher Education (TSCHE) for coaching the civil service aspirants. We are also planning to approach the state government for further help."

Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, who inaugurated the Coaching Academy, had proposed in a meeting of vice chancellors the establishment of training centres in universities to provide students with the opportunity to pass competitive exams. He expressed his delight that the university had implemented his proposal and suggested that other important arrangements be made at the facility.

This paper presents a method for synthesis of CeO2-Fe2O3 core-shell nanoparticles (CSNPs). These are shown to display enhanced ethanol sensing properties. Synthesis was done via a two-step process, starting with co-precipitation and followed by applying a sol-gel method. High resolution electron microscopy results revealed the core-shell nature of the particles. Surface morphological studies of the CSNPs showed a microcluster-like structure which is assumed to be responsible for the enhanced sensing response. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed valence states of Fe(III) and Ce(IV). The material was used in a resisitive sensor for ethanol vapor at room temperature (RT), at a typically applied voltage of 5 V. The response of the sensor is higher than that of pristine CeO2 or Fe2O3 sensors towards 100 ppm of ethanol at RT. The lower detection limit is 1 ppm (with a signal change of 23). The response and recovery times are as short as 3 and 7 s, respectively. The sensing mechanism is discussed in detail with respect to n-n heterojunctions formed between n-CeO2 and n-Fe2O3, high catalytic activity of the Fe2O3, and microcluster-like structures of the particles. SAR Image registration is a precursor for several remote sensing applications, which need precise spatial transformation between the real time moving image and fixed off-line image. In such applications, the processing time in finding whether the moving images can be registered with fixed image constitute an overhead. Hence we have approached the problem by trying to predict if the given SAR images can be registered or not even without registering them. The proposed image registration approach incorporates a classifier into the standard pipeline of feature based image registration. The attributes for the classifier model are derived from fusing the spatial parameters of the feature detector to the descriptor vector in bag of visual words framework. 17dc91bb1f
