He received a B.S. degree in Electronics Engineering from the Universidad Surcolombiana (Colombia, 2009), an M.Sc. degree in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering from the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (Brazil, 2012), and a Ph.D. degree in Systems and Computing Engineering from the Universidad Nacional (Colombia, 2020). Moreover, he was a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Universidad Nacional de Colombia from 2020 to 2021.
His research interest involves the understanding and development of methods that automatically learn from data to build predictive systems. His current research interest is machine/deep learning analysis applied to information sources from the medical domain. Also, he is working on designing low-cost biomedical devices, the application of artificial intelligence and computer vision to multimodal sources of information, and Edge-AI/Tiny ML to detect different diseases.
