The oscam-git error looks to me like it is the result of a problem in the code which would be an upstream issue. But if you want to follow up on it, I'd first report it to the aur maintainer. They are likey more familiar with the code and upstream practices that we are and could better determine if this really is an upstream bug - and if so they might now the best way to work with upstream to fix it.

The most updated oscam versions (now v1.20-r11572-1) are in repository entware supported by CoreELEC (see -k3.10). It works very well. You can also search for information on docker containers, also supported by CoreELEC, for oscam, and finally you can search for the latest binaries for arm processors in web forums aimed at satellite receivers, these are the most updated but the origin of the applications is unknown.

hi!

1) opkg remove enigma2-softcam-oscam

I can't remove oscam, I tried all the procedures but they didn't work, when I try to install the new oscam it always tells me it's already installed

Yes and no, if someone were to share their oscam install over the internet, it would indeed be illegal, but you'd still be limited in how many activations you can do pr. hour, since that is built into the card itself.

No you aren't, the cam slot is there for that specific reason (decrypting the encryption) oscam is a software emulator for feeding the keys. If its in your own home its still circumventing as most sat providers have a multi room set up they provide...

Great! Thanks Malcolm! Why did I not think of that? That script will serve as a learning experience also. The trouble with oscam is the same as with tvheadend. The pre-built binaries rarely work for your config.

@MarsSeed: You might be right but mine is actually way more maintained than the one in oscam-svn and it has a different build config compared to that one. So despite sharing a repository, they are very different in the way we build oscam.

I have submitted a deletion request, since this package builds from a Subversion repo and therefore is an exact duplicate of oscam-svn. People who need this module should use the latter package.

Oh sorry... so then you probably use "sysctl" and not "init.d", for purpose of the start | stop | restart services. This tool is used a little differently. Of course, you can use the sysctl command to control processes (including the oscam process).

Restart the softcam after changing your config files by pressing Menu on remote control and navigate to: Setup > SoftCam/CI > Softcam setup... > Select softcam > (press left or right to select) oscam > press green button(ok). 17dc91bb1f
