Organisation

Organisacional structure

The original CENTERA approach will be established by building five workgroups (WGs) covering all the steps in the ‘value chain’ from high-level basic science exploratory research (WG1-physics and WG2-biomedicine), through novel device and component design, manufacturing and testing (WG3 integrated circuits, WG4 antennas), to innovative systems and commercial or industrial applications (WG5). An interaction between these workgroups is shown on the diagram above. Research results of WG1 and WG2 will be transferred to scientific journals and to patent offices (WG5). Ideas of innovative devices will be proposed for realization in WG3 and WG4. Independently, WG3 and WG4 will carry out applied science studies of feasibility of THz integrated circuits, antennas, optics with the prospect for submission to scientific journals and patent offices (WG5). Applied science research of these groups will focus on providing components to demonstrators that will be realized in WG5, which will be responsible for contacts with industrial partners.
