Tournament Rules
The Game:
Game Times: Saturday Pool Play: 75-minute games, no new inning after time expires; games may end in a tie
Sunday Bracket Play: 75-minute games, must have a winner
Championship Game: 90-minute game, must have a winner
Run Rule: We will use the 12, 10 and 8 run rule in all tournament play. If one team is 12, 10 or 8 runs ahead after 3, 4 or 5 innings, or after 2½, 3½ or 4½ innings, if the home team is ahead by 12, 10 or 8 or more runs respectively, the team with the 12, 10 or 8 run lead shall be the winner.
This tournament will follow NSA rules unless otherwise noted in these tournament rules.
Lineups:
Lineups may include flexible options such as Bat 9, Extra Hitter (EH), Twins, and Continuous Batting Order (see NSA rulebook for details).
Team Music:
Music is allowed at the discretion of the Tournament Director.
* Volume must be kept at a reasonable level so it does not affect other fields
* Music may only be played prior to games and between innings
* Walk-up music must end when the batter enters the batter’s box
Park Rules:
* Smoking, skateboards, and bikes are not allowed inside the park
* No dogs allowed inside the park (service animals excepted)
* Please lock vehicles and do not leave valuables visible
* Teams are responsible for keeping warm-up areas, bleachers, and dugouts clean
Sportsmanship:
**UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT WILL NOT BE TOLERATED.**
This applies to all coaches, managers, players, and spectators.
Anyone using abusive language or exhibiting poor behavior is subject to ejection from the tournament.
Coaches are responsible for controlling their team and fans at all times.
Player Safety:
All offensive players must wear helmets during live play.
* First violation: warning
* Second violation: player restriction and head coach penalty
Dugouts:
First come, first served for dugout selection. Teams will remain in the same dugout if playing back-to-back
games on the same field.
Home Team:
A coin flip will determine home team for pool play only.
Home team will keep the official scorebook.
Protests:
All umpire judgment calls are final and not subject to protest. Rule interpretations and player eligibility protests may
be submitted to the Tournament Director and Umpire-in-Chief. A $75 cash protest fee is required per question and
will be refunded if the protest is upheld. All decisions made by the Tournament Director and Umpire-in-Chief are final.
Sunday Seeding:
Seeding will be determined by:
1. Win/Loss record
2. Head-to-head (not used if more than two teams are tied)
3. Runs allowed
4. Runs scored
5. Coin flip
