Click on Start Button to start installing the selected OS in this VM
A New Window will popup displaying the redhat installation screen. Press Enter
Click on Skip to skip the media test and start the installation
Press Next to begin the installation
Select the Language and click next
Select the Keyborard Type and press next
Select the radio button for skip entering installation number and press next
Click Next when a warning is prompted for not entering the installation number
Click on Yes when prompted to initializing the drive
To do manual partitions select create custom layout and press next
Click on New
Tp create a partition for swap space, select the file system type as swap and enter the required size. I have given 8GB as swap size. Click on ok
Click on New and select the /boot option as mount point and File System as ext3. I have allotted 1GB to /boot. Select the Force to be a primary partition check box for boot as it is recommended format.
Create a partition for /home
Create /tmp partition. It is recommended to allot atleast 5GB for /tmp.
Create /usr partition. Allot atleast 5GB to /usr if you are installing all the packages bundled with RHEL software
Create /var/ partition
Create /usr/local Partition
Create /opt partition
Create /u01 partition
Create / partition
Select the defaults and press next
Set an IP address Manually and set a subnet mask
Set a hostname
Click on continue when a warning regarding default gateway is prompted
Click on continue when a warning regarding primary dns is prompted
Select your country/region
Enter the root password
Click on customize now and click next
Select all the applications and packages except for languages. Since we are selecting all the packages the /usr mount point should have atleast 5GB of space otherwise error will be thrown
Click Next
Click on Reboot
Click on Forward
Agree the license and click on forward
Disable to firewall
Click yes when prompted
Disable SELinux
Click yes when prompted
Enabling kdump is optional, click on forward
Select the date and time
Click No for software updates
Click on I'll connect later when prompted
You can skip creating the user and click on forward
Click on continue when prompted
Click on Forward
Click on Finish
Click on OK to reboot the system
Login and check your setup
