Hello
After Installing Virtual Box we can create one or more nodes depending on the capacity of the host computer.
1. To create a new Virtual Machine click on the New Button on the top left corner. The below page will be launched
Enter the Name for your Virtual Machine
Select the type of OS you are about to install in this VM
Select the Version of the OS and click Next
2. Allot the RAM for VM and click next. I have allotted 3 GB as I am planning to install EBS R12.1.1
3. Select the 'Create a Virtual Hard Drive Now' radio button and click on create button. This option creates a new virtual disk.
4. Select the Hard Drive File Type and click next
5. Select the storage type. If you select the Dynamically allotted option then the free space in the hard disk is preserved and the storage will be allotted on demand.
6. Enter the File location and size for Hard disk.
I have created a directory in my External Hard disk for my VM disks and select the appropriate size required based on your application or database requirements and click on Create button.
7. Select the VM and click on Settings
You can also right click on the VM and click on settings option
8. Click on Storage and click on plus symbol next to Controller : IDE to add CD/Device
9. Click on Choose Disk
10. I have RHEL iso file, which I would like to install in this VM
Select the file and click on open.
11. Click on OK
12. Click on Start Button to start installing the selected OS in this VM
That's it.
