I installed BI Publisher Desktop on my PC but while trying to get the Add In to show up in the Word Ribbon I inadvertently removed the BI Publisher entry from the COMS Add In page within Word. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop a couple of times but cannot get the BI Publisher Add-in to show up again under Word Options > Add-ins > COM Add-ins so that I can enable it. Start > Oracle BI Publisher Desktop > Enable or Disable Template Builder doesn't help, nor does Start > Oracle BI Publisher Desktop > Set Template Builder Language. I have also uninstalled & reinstalled Java, that hasn't solved the problem.

1. Open Microsoft Word and Navigate -> File -> Options -> Add-Ins.

2. On the same page you will see function Manage : COM -add-ins, click GO button.

3. Add and enable TBMenus2007 if not already listed.

4. Save the changes and confirm Microsoft Word now displays the Add-In.

Thanks for your response. The problem is that once I've completed steps 1 and 2, there is no TBmenu or BI Publisher item available to enable. If I select the Add button and navigate to the C:\Program Files (x86) > Oracle or C:\Program Files (x86) > Oracle USA folders there are plenty of .dll files available but all that I try to select give me a "not a valid Office Add-in" message. Using the File Explorer search function, there are no files found that start with "TBmenu".

Hello, I had same problem and the reason is I installed wrong BI publisher version. I am on 64 bit windows but installed 32 bit BI publisher version. When I installed latest 64 bit version, the problem is resolved.

When I installed BIP 12.2.1.4 the menus were missing in MS Word (2007), with BIP 11.1.1.9 the issue was the same until I installed TBMenusSetup. Then I leave TBMenusSetup and uninstalled BIP 11g and installed BIP12c, now I can see the menus.

I can't believe how gullible I must be to think that Oracle will actually create an installer that works for this product. For YEARS, my friends, across many releases, this has been an issue. I've faced it in 11g, 12, and now Oracle Analytics Publisher.

I am attempting to install the the BI Publisher Template Builder Add-in. And, as usual, having no luck making the Publisher option appear on the Word menu.

Software versions on my PC:

MS Office 64-bit Version 2209 Build 16.0.15629.20256.

Java SE Development Kit version 8 update 311 (64 bit) 8.0.3110.11.

Microsoft .NET Runtime - 5.0.17.3123 (x64).

From -publisher/downloads.html, I clicked the 'Oracle Analytics Publisher Desktop 6.4.0 for 64 bit Office on Windows' link. I ticked the checkbox to download V1031015-01.zip. This downloaded a file named Oracle_SSN_DLM_12011246.exe.

I executed that file. It produced a zip file named V1031015-01.zip. I unzipped that file, which produced a file named OracleAnalyticsPublisherDesktop-6.4.0-win64.exe, dated 8/4/2022 with a file size of 201MB. I right-clicked that file and selected 'Run as Administrator' to begin the installation.

I accepted the default destination folder c:\Program Files\Oracle\Oracle Analytics Publisher\Oracle Analytics Publisher Desktop. The installer went through the usual stuff - templates, samples, fonts, etc..., completing in less than 30 seconds.

MS Word opened with the Welcome to Oracle Analytics Publisher document. But the Publisher option is not present on the Word menu. It IS present in Excel.

I have already tried all of the usual fixes that have been suggested over the many years that this problem has existed. None of them are helping. Including...

* Word Add-ins: The add-in is not listed in any category on the main page. Active, Inactive, Disabled - it isn't there.

* It also is not shown as an available add-in under the COM Add-ins, nor any other category under the 'Manage' option.

* Ran 'Enable or Disable Template Builder' twice. The first time disabled it, the second time enabled it. Still no menu entry.

* Navigated to the destination folder and opened the DotNetInstallFiles folder. Based on the suggestion found at -publisher-tab-is-not-visible-in-ms-word/, I executed setup.exe and selected the 'Repair' option. Upon completion, it reported 'TBAddInSetup64 has been successfully installed'. Still no BI Publisher on the Word menu or in the Add-Ins.

* In Word Add-ins, I went to COM Add-ins and clicked the Add button. Looked for TBAddin.vsto|vstolocal - does not exist. Tried ETBAddIn.vsto instead. "Not a valid Office Add-in."

* I've tried every suggestion at -bi-publisher-tab-issue-in-ms-word/, including changing Trust Center settings.

And from -bi-publisher-desktop/, File ... Options ... Customize Ribbon: BI Publisher is not available as shown in the screenshot

Any additional suggestions?

I'm having problems installing BI Publisher for Desktop 11.1.1.9.0 32bit(11g) on Win7 64 bit system (Office 2013). Previously I successfully installed it but there was no add-on visible in Office, so tried with 64 bit version but with no luck. After that I've uninstalled it but now it keeps giving me these errors, "INSTALL DIR get falied!" and "TBMenusSetup.msi!"

download bi publisher desktop and do a fresh install.if you are not getting the add on then go to Microsoft office icon-->word option-->add ins-->then check in manage drop down(disabled items). If its Bi Publisher then click on that. You will get this in MS word.

-bi-publisher-desktop-on-64-bit-windows-with-32-bit-office/Personally, until next time, not sure what worked, as above step I did earlier with no resolution. But, I have been installing, troubleshooting BIP Desktop for few years and each time it is broken, fix do not exist and there are threads which leads to absolutely nothing. This time around, O365 was rolled out to Pilot Users and yes BIP toolbar gone. Uninstalled O365, re-installed Office 2010, repair/remove/reinstall - none worked. Ran MS Debug/ Sysinternals - Procmon/ProcessXP - found leak threads but nothing to suggest which components is missing or corrupted. Finally, I started running all msi and pre-req sw in BIP dir and DotNetInstallFiles, and it did come back the elusive toolbar, which MS Word fails to load or kept in Inactive add-ins. 152ee80cbc
