PRIVACY POLICY FOR FULLPAGE SCREEN CAPTURE
Last updated: August 24, 2026
1. INTRODUCTION & COMMITMENT TO PRIVACY
FullPage Screen Capture ("we", "our", or "the extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This extension is designed with a strict "Privacy by Design" architecture: all operations, webpage scrolling, screenshot stitching, and file exports are executed 100% locally on your device. We do not collect, store, transmit, track, or monetize any user data.
2. INFORMATION WE DO NOT COLLECT
• We do NOT collect or store your browsing history.
• We do NOT record keystrokes, form inputs, passwords, or personal credentials.
• We do NOT transmit captured screenshots or page content to any external server or cloud service.
• We do NOT use tracking cookies, advertising IDs, or third-party analytics scripts.
• We do NOT sell, rent, or trade any user information to third parties.
3. DETAILED PERMISSIONS USAGE & JUSTIFICATIONS
The extension requests only the minimum necessary permissions in accordance with Google Chrome's Principle of Least Privilege:
a) "activeTab" Permission
• Purpose: Grants temporary access strictly to the currently active tab when you explicitly click the extension icon or press the keyboard shortcut (Alt+Shift+P).
• How it is used: Allows the extension to capture the visible viewport (via chrome.tabs.captureVisibleTab) and read page title and dimensions for the screenshot header.
• Privacy safeguard: Access is granted only upon explicit user invocation and expires when the tab is closed or navigated away. The extension cannot monitor or access inactive tabs.
b) "scripting" Permission
• Purpose: Allows the extension to programmatically inject a temporary content script and stylesheet into the active webpage during screenshot capture.
• How it is used: The injected script calculates the total document height and width, scrolls the page step-by-step from top to bottom, hides the progress indicator immediately before each snapshot to ensure clean images, and facilitates the custom rectangle selection tool.
• Privacy safeguard: The script runs ephemerally during the capture process and removes all temporary DOM elements immediately upon completion.
c) "storage" Permission
• Purpose: Provides access to Chrome's local storage API (chrome.storage.local).
• How it is used: Saves user-configured preferences locally on your computer (e.g., preferred export format [PNG/JPG], scroll delay timing [150ms/300ms/600ms], and license key activation status).
• Privacy safeguard: All storage data remains exclusively on your local machine and is never synced or sent over the internet.
4. THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES & EXTERNAL LINKS
When you capture a screenshot of a third-party webpage, the content of that webpage is processed entirely within your browser's local sandbox. The extension has no control over the privacy practices of external websites you visit.
5. DATA RETENTION & DELETION
All captured screenshots and settings are stored locally in your browser memory and storage. When you close the screenshot result tab, memory allocated for image stitching is freed by the browser. You can clear all saved extension preferences at any time by uninstalling the extension or clearing extension data in Chrome settings.
6. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect functional improvements or compliance updates. Any revisions will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date.
