If you want a rugged, safety-focused audio companion for open-water swimming and running with integrated night lights, choose Opinta Swimming Headphones; if you need a soft, fully silicone-encased device with the latest Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity for deep dives and secure goggle fit, choose Hostena Full-Coverage Liquid Silicone.
• Opinta Swimming Headphones: The standout strength is its dedicated night safety light system and robust IPX8 rating designed for runners and swimmers alike; the trade-off is a slightly longer 2.5-hour charge time compared to its rival. This pick is best for athletes who prioritize visibility and durability in varied environments.
• Hostena Full-Coverage Liquid Silicone: Its primary advantage lies in the premium liquid silicone construction that offers a seamless, comfortable fit with swim caps and goggles, paired with faster charging speeds; however, it lacks the specific visual safety features found on the Opinta. This option suits those who value tactile comfort and modern connectivity standards like Bluetooth 6.0.
• The Decision: If your routine involves outdoor night runs or mixed sports where visibility matters, Opinta wins. If you are strictly focused on pool sessions or open water where goggle integration and material softness are paramount, Hostena takes the lead.
The Opinta X7 Pro is engineered specifically for the athlete who refuses to compromise between aquatic performance and terrestrial safety. At its core, this device leverages bone conduction technology to keep your ears open, allowing you to hear traffic, other swimmers, or environmental hazards while listening to music. The design philosophy here is clearly "safety first." The inclusion of indicator lights on both sides of the headset transforms it from a simple audio device into a visible safety tool. By pressing and holding the volume button, you can activate flashing red lights that make you highly visible during early morning jogs or evening laps. This feature alone makes it a compelling choice for anyone who trains outside the pool, whether cycling, marathon running, or surfing.
The hardware specs support a versatile lifestyle. With Bluetooth 5.4, the connection is stable and rapid when you are out of the water, but the real magic happens underwater. Since sound does not travel well through water via standard air-conduction speakers, Opinta relies on its 32GB internal storage to hold up to 7,000 songs in MP3 mode. This means you don't need your phone tethered to you in the locker room or by the poolside. The battery life is equally impressive, offering eight hours of continuous playback after just 2.5 hours of charging via a magnetic cable. This longevity ensures that even on long training days, you won't be interrupted by a dead battery.

However, this product is not for everyone. If you are looking for the absolute softest, most skin-friendly material that feels like a second layer of silicone, the plastic and silicone blend of the Opinta might feel slightly less plush than some competitors. Furthermore, the lack of a built-in microphone for calls in the waterproof mode (implied by the focus on MP3 mode underwater) means this is primarily an entertainment device for sports rather than a communication hub. You should skip this model if you never swim outdoors at night or if you require a device that integrates perfectly with tight-fitting swim caps without any rigid structural elements. It is a workhorse for the multi-sport athlete who needs to see and be seen.
Hostena has taken a different approach with the X26 model, focusing heavily on the user experience during the actual act of swimming. The defining characteristic here is the full-coverage liquid silicone material. Unlike traditional hard plastics or standard rubber, this liquid silicone offers a soft, skin-comfortable texture that feels gentle against the face and head. This is particularly crucial for swimmers who wear tight swim caps or goggles, as the soft material conforms to your shape without creating pressure points or gaps. The design explicitly targets the "open-ear" requirement, ensuring that while you are submerged, you remain aware of your surroundings, yet the physical build protects the internal components better against the friction of swim gear.
Connectivity is another area where Hostena pushes forward. While many devices settle for Bluetooth 5.4, this unit boasts Bluetooth 6.0. In practical terms, this newer standard promises a more efficient wireless connection range—up to 33 feet—and potentially better stability when moving between the deck and the water edge. Like its competitor, it includes 32GB of internal memory, but it claims the capacity to store up to 8,000 songs across multiple formats including FLAC and APE, which appeals to audiophiles who want high-resolution tracks without sacrificing portability. The charging speed is also a significant upgrade; you get 8 hours of usage from just 1.5 hours of charging time, and the standby mode can last up to 90 hours, meaning you rarely have to worry about the power level between swims.
This product is ideal for the dedicated swimmer who spends hours in the pool or ocean and prioritizes comfort above all else. The lightweight and ergonomic design ensures the headphones stay secure even during intense strokes or flips. However, if you plan to use these headphones for running at night, you will miss the active safety lights found on the Opinta. The lack of a specific night-light feature means you rely solely on ambient lighting or reflective clothing. Additionally, while the Bluetooth 6.0 is excellent, remember that underwater, you must switch to MP3 mode regardless of the brand, as radio waves do not penetrate water effectively. Choose Hostena if your primary goal is a luxurious, gap-free fit for serious lap swimming and you value the fastest possible recharge times.

After analyzing the specifications and intended use cases for both devices, I would personally buy the Hostena Full-Coverage Liquid Silicone if my primary goal was a dedicated gaming headset for gaming or serious swimming immersion. While Opinta is fantastic for the runner-swimmer hybrid, the Hostena's superior material comfort and faster charging make it the more relaxing choice for extended sessions. The liquid silicone feels less intrusive, and the Bluetooth 6.0 future-proofs the device for better wireless performance when you are out of the water. For a gamer who wants to game without distractions or a swimmer who wants to lose themselves in their playlist for hours, the Hostena offers the smoother, more comfortable experience I prefer.
Yes, both models carry an IP68 rating, which means they can withstand submersion up to two meters without damage. However, neither supports Bluetooth connectivity underwater; you must switch to MP3 mode using the internal 32GB storage to play music while submerged.
Both devices are rated for 8 hours of continuous playback, which is sufficient for long training sessions or daily commutes. The Hostena charges faster at 1.5 hours, while the Opinta requires 2.5 hours to reach full capacity.
No, both units come with magnetic charging cables and are designed to be durable without additional cases. The Hostena's liquid silicone exterior provides a soft, protective shell, while the Opinta uses a rugged plastic and silicone mix.
You can only use them for music stored locally in MP3 mode while submerged; calling functionality is limited to use above water.
