Indo-Pacific partner nations have also joined the operation in recent years; this year U.S. troops worked with counterparts from Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. For participating service members, Christmas Drop serves as valuable training in airlifting supplies to austere locations.

Operation Christmas Drop is a trilateral training mission designed to give U.S., Japanese and Australian C-130 Hercules crews a chance to airdrop supplies on unsurveyed drop zones throughout the Pacific. Breast reduction is one of the most performed operations in plastic surgery practice. Although breast reduction with inverted T scar is the technique of choice because of reliability among the plastic surgeons,1 vertical scar breast reduction which enables less scar and longer lasting results, is also welcomed.2,3 The evolution and history of the vertical scar breast reduction and mastopexy is well described in the literature.4 The technique was first introduced by Dartique and further developed and popularised by Lassus and Lejour. The learning curve was simplified by Hall-Findlay. Since then, many contributions to the vertical scar breast reduction were reported by various authors.5 The dynamics and the principles of the technique were also well established at the same time.6 While fullfilling the need of more patients, it also gained increasing popularity among surgeons, recently.1-3

All surgeries were performed under endotracheal anesthesia. No tumescent solution was administered to the breasts. At the beginning of the operation the new nipple areola complex (NAC) was outlined using a 42 mm diameter areolar marker and incised. The superior pedicle was de-epithelialized between the preoperative markings ,keeping NAC intact. The inferior border of the pedicle was incised down to the prepectoral fascia beyond the thickness of the pedicle. Lateral and medial incisons were made through the breast parenchyma in the same manner. The inferior border was elevated as a 2-3 mm thin flap down to IMF border. The inferior breast parenchyma was resected en bloc within these borders off the prepectoral fascia leaving some loose areolar tissue (Figure 2). The superior pedicle was seperated off the chest wall, creating a pouch 6-8 cm in width, till the new position of NAC, to facilitate upward movement.

In response to these thefts, investigators in the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division launched Operation Snowman. This operation culminated last month with the arrest of five people and the recovery of almost $300,000 worth of stolen snow clearing equipment and vehicles.

Methods:  From January 2006 to May 2012, twenty five individual patients underwent operation using modified technique with superior pedicle and vertical scar. Young women between ages 25-35 years with voluminous breasts who requested mastopexy rather than reduction were selected for the surgery.

Operation Snow White was a criminal conspiracy by the Church of Scientology during the 1970s to purge unfavorable records about Scientology and its founder, L. Ron Hubbard. This project included a series of infiltrations into and thefts from 136 government agencies, foreign embassies and consulates, as well as private organizations critical of Scientology, carried out by Church members in more than 30 countries.[1] It was one of the largest infiltrations of the United States government in history,[2] with up to 5,000 covert agents.[3] This operation also exposed the Scientology plot "Operation Freakout", because Operation Snow White was the case that initiated the U.S. government's investigation of the Church.[3]

Several years later, in 1973, the Guardian's Office began a massive infiltration of governments around the world, though the primary target of the operation was the United States. Worried about Scientology's long-term reputation, the Guardian's Office decided to infiltrate Interpol to obtain documents related to Scientology, as well as those connecting L. Ron Hubbard to criminal activity. Jane Kember handed this duty to Henning Heldt and his staff.[11]

Around this time L. Ron Hubbard himself wrote Guardian Order 732,[12] which called for the removal and correction of "erroneous" Scientology files. It is here that Operation Snow White has its origins. Though the order called for this to be achieved by legal means, this would quickly change.[13] Hubbard himself would later be named by federal prosecutors as an "unindicted co-conspirator" for his part in the operation. Though extensive records of his involvement exist, many Scientologists claim his directives were misinterpreted by his followers.[14][15]

The Church has been reluctant to discuss the operation's details; typical statements by members and operatives are often vague comments saying that the Guardian's Office (GO) had been "infiltrated" and "set up" to fail in its mission to protect the Church, that those involved were "purged" from the Church, without detailing what actually happened (although it has been suggested many of those involved and "purged" remained in important positions of power within the church).[66] Church spokespersons on the Internet and elsewhere have been known to claim that the operatives "had done nothing more serious than steal photocopier paper."[67] 006ab0faaa
