OpenKeys is an Android application developed and published by Daryl Henderin. This privacy policy applies to the OpenKeys application with the package name com.djh.openkeys.
OpenKeys does not require users to create an account.
OpenKeys does not include advertising or third-party analytics and does not sell users’ personal information.
OpenKeys allows users to select and import SoundFont SF2 files from their device. These files, file references, patches, scenes, setlists, MIDI settings, and other app preferences are stored locally on the user’s device.
OpenKeys does not upload user-imported SoundFont files to the developer.
OpenKeys uses internet access to:
Download optional OpenKeys sound content
Connect to Google Play for in-app purchases
Check for application updates
Servers used to deliver downloadable content may automatically process basic technical information, such as an IP address, as required to provide the download.
OpenKeys offers an optional one-time purchase that unlocks full SF2 importing. Purchases are processed by Google Play. OpenKeys receives purchase status information needed to activate and restore the purchased feature. Payment information is handled by Google and is not received or stored by the developer.

OpenKeys may request Bluetooth permissions to discover and connect to Bluetooth MIDI controllers. Bluetooth information is used only to establish the user-requested MIDI connection and is not uploaded to the developer.
OpenKeys does not record, store, or transmit microphone audio. Audio-related permissions, when requested, are used only to support Android audio and low-latency music functionality.
OpenKeys does not sell personal data. Information is shared only with service providers necessary to provide requested functionality, including Google Play for purchases and updates and the hosting service used for optional sound downloads.
OpenKeys settings and imported-file references remain on the user’s device until the user removes them, clears the app’s data, or uninstalls OpenKeys.
Users can remove imported SoundFonts through the OpenKeys library. Uninstalling OpenKeys or clearing its storage removes locally stored application data.
Purchase records are retained and managed by Google Play according to Google’s policies and legal requirements.
OpenKeys is not designed to collect personal information from children. The application does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
OpenKeys uses Android and Google Play security mechanisms to protect application data and purchase information. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
This policy may be updated when OpenKeys features or legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated effective date.
