Water Scarcity is a threatening issue that could cause political turmoil and adverse health impact. Technological development has partially solved the water scarcity problem by treating and reclaiming the water from industrial, sea, surface and ground water. In these treatment process, what is being overlooked are the precious resources in water such as metal ions and nutrients that could be recovered at minimum expense of energy and cost. Recovery of these resources make water or wastewater treatment process an ever attractive process. Membrane technology hybrided with nanotechnology, advanced polymer technology as well as biotechnology could provide an advance solution for future water reclamation and product recovery.
