Local Rules

Local Rules for OOGL Events

  1. OOGL has adopted the USGA Local Rule E-5 – Alternative to Stroke and Distance for Lost Ball or Ball Out of Bounds.

  2. Obstructions include any area underlain by gravel.

  3. Residential private property is out of bounds whether marked or not. These areas include rock walls, temporary construction fencing, and manicured areas.

  4. Damaged areas on the fringe of the #11 green may be played as ground under repair.

  5. The entire transition area on #4 may be played as ground under repair.

  6. Wooden stakes and ropes are used in a few places on the course to control cart traffic. A ball hitting a stake or rope on Hole #5 or Hole #18 may be replayed without penalty.

  7. A number of holes (e.g., #5, #14, #18) have standing water in the fairways and golfers may take relief from these areas of temporary water. Many of these puddles in the fairway have dry areas around their perimeter of long, untended grass; or may have become bare dirt areas if the water has evaporated. Any of these areas may be played as ground under repair. Note, however, that this relief does not apply to balls in the rough.
