Who we are
On The Rock is an orthodox and evangelical church moving in Pentecostal Power.
Janet and Chris Barraclough founded On The Rock in 1996 after hearing God's call to minister to the travellors and backpackers of Queenstown. Meetings are informal and cafe-style including Communion, Worship & Preaching, so that all can feel comfortable coming to experience intimacy and presence of God.
Our meeting place is located in Queenstown at 7 Viscount Lane. We desire to provide relevant ministry to the world through Queenstowns travelling population.
While Queenstowns permanent population sits at approx 24,000, half of these are absentee landlords. Combining that with the majority of the workforce on temporary work visas and the town hosting 2.8 million visitors a year. This is a truly a unique opportunely from the church's doorstep.
