If you want a durable, wired kids headset for video calls that grows with your child and withstands daily roughhousing, choose ONTA Kids Headphones; if you need active noise cancellation, Bluetooth 5.4 wireless freedom, and a rotatable microphone specifically for immersive online learning or travel, choose LOBKIN Active Noise Cancelling.
• ONTA Kids Headphones: Strength lies in its food-grade, kidproof durability and adjustable fit for growing ears; the trade-off is the lack of wireless connectivity and noise isolation. Best for parents prioritizing safety and longevity over features.
• LOBKIN Active Noise Cancelling: Strength is its modern Bluetooth 5.4 tech, built-in active noise cancellation, and rotatable mic for clear communication; the trade-off is a more complex design with battery management needs. Best for teens and kids needing focus in noisy environments.
• Who picks which: Choose ONTA for a "set it and forget it" wired solution for school and home; choose LOBKIN for a premium, feature-rich experience for travel and focused study.
The ONTA Kids Headphones are engineered with a singular focus: survival in the hands of a child. The description highlights a design that is lovingly crafted for children's ears, available in six distinct colors to match any personality. What stands out most in the data sheet is the use of Thermoplastic Elastomer (TPE) for the enclosure material. This isn't just about aesthetics; TPE is a soft, flexible plastic often used in medical and baby products because it can withstand biting and chewing without breaking. For a parent worried about a toddler putting headphones in their mouth during a long flight or while watching cartoons, this material choice offers genuine peace of mind. The product is explicitly described as being made from food-grade materials, a claim that suggests safety is the primary engineering goal rather than high-end audio fidelity.
The physical build is equally robust. The headband is designed to be "kidproof," meaning it can take a solid beating when dropped or twisted. The ear cups are over-ear style with removable padding, which is a crucial feature for hygiene. Kids sweat, they spill drinks, and they get messy; having padding that can be removed and cleaned quickly extends the life of the device significantly. Furthermore, the 40-millimeter dynamic drivers deliver a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz with a sensitivity of 103 dB. While these specs sound impressive on paper, the real-world benefit here is clarity without volume danger. The 32-ohm impedance ensures they work well with standard devices without needing an amplifier, making them plug-and-play ready for iPads, laptops, and smartphones via the included 3.5mm jack.

This headset is ideal for the family that wants a single pair of headphones to last through elementary school and into middle school. The adjustable headband is designed to suit kids of all ages, meaning you don't have to buy new ones every time your child has a growth spurt. They fold up neatly for backpack storage and are lightweight enough for car rides. However, there is a clear limitation: these are strictly wired. The connectivity technology is listed as "Wired" with no mention of Bluetooth. If your child's tablet or laptop does not have a headphone jack, or if you need a cable-free setup for video calls where movement is required, this product will not work without an adapter. Additionally, there is no active noise control mentioned, so ambient room noise will be audible.
Who should skip this: You should skip the ONTA if you need a wireless solution for a video call where your child might trip over a cord, or if you require active noise cancellation to block out a loud household environment.
The LOBKIN S31 ANC represents a step up in technological complexity, designed for the modern student who needs to disconnect from distractions. The headline feature here is Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), a technology that actively analyzes and cancels out external sounds. For a child trying to join a virtual class or watch educational content in a busy living room, this creates a personal quiet zone. The inclusion of Bluetooth 5.4 is another significant differentiator. This version of the wireless standard offers faster pairing, lower latency, and a stable connection range of up to 10 meters. This means a child can move around the room while on a video call without the audio cutting out, a common frustration with older Bluetooth versions or wired setups.
The design incorporates a rotatable microphone, which is a specific feature tailored for video conferencing. When the child is speaking, the mic is positioned correctly; when listening, it can be rotated away or tucked in. The headphones support both wireless and 3.5mm wired modes, offering versatility that the ONTA lacks. If the battery runs out, the child isn't left stranded; they can simply switch to the wired mode using the included audio cable. The enclosure is made of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS), a hard, impact-resistant plastic that provides a sturdy shell for the internal electronics. Like the ONTA, these also feature 40-millimeter dynamic drivers with a 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz frequency response, ensuring rich sound quality. The package includes an organizer box, acknowledging that these are more valuable, electronic devices that need careful storage to prevent loss or damage.
However, the introduction of electronics brings responsibilities. These headphones require charging, and unlike the ONTA, they do not function indefinitely without power. The user must remember to charge the unit before a trip or a long study session. The ABS material, while durable, is harder than the TPE used by ONTA, so it may not be as safe if a very young toddler attempts to chew on the ear cup. The button controls are straightforward, but the added features like ANC and Bluetooth require a slightly more sophisticated user interface. This is a device built for the "teens" demographic as well as younger kids, catering to those who value connectivity and focus.
Who should skip this: Skip the LOBKIN if you have a very young child who tends to put everything in their mouth, as the hard ABS casing and exposed electronics pose a higher risk than the soft, food-grade ONTA model. Also, avoid this if you prefer a zero-maintenance device that never needs charging.
• Best for Video Calls (Wireless Freedom): LOBKIN Active Noise Cancelling wins due to Bluetooth 5.4 and the rotatable microphone, allowing for untethered movement and clear voice pickup.
• Best for Durability and Safety: ONTA Kids Headphones are superior for toddlers and young children thanks to the food-grade TPE material and chew-proof design.
• Best Battery Life: ONTA Kids Headphones offer infinite battery life since they are powered entirely by the connected device, whereas LOBKIN requires regular recharging.
• Best for Noisy Environments: LOBKIN Active Noise Cancelling is the clear choice for blocking out background noise in classrooms or busy homes.
• Best Value for Longevity: ONTA is designed to grow with the child for years with an adjustable band and replaceable cleaning pads, avoiding the obsolescence of aging batteries.
• Best Portability: Both fold well, but LOBKIN comes with a dedicated storage box, adding extra protection for the more delicate wireless components.
• Best Simplicity: ONTA is a true plug-and-play device with no buttons to confuse a child or settings to adjust; LOBKIN offers more control but requires learning the interface.
• Best for Mixed Use: LOBKIN supports both wired and wireless modes, giving you the flexibility to use it even if the battery dies, whereas ONTA is wired-only.
In my opinion, I would buy the LOBKIN Active Noise Cancelling for a child who is old enough to handle electronics responsibly and specifically for use during video calls. The ability to move freely without a cord and the active noise cancellation create a much better environment for learning and interaction. However, if you are buying for a preschooler or a child prone to chewing on accessories, the ONTA Kids Headphones are the only safe and logical choice. The ONTA is the better "durable toy" that survives drops and bites, while the LOBKIN is the better "tech tool" for focus and communication. For a school-age child preparing for remote learning, the LOBKIN's features justify the extra care required.
Yes, but the best choice depends on your needs. The LOBKIN is optimized for video calls with its rotatable microphone and Bluetooth 5.4 for wireless stability. The ONTA works fine for calls if the device has a headphone jack, but it restricts movement with a wire.
Both models utilize 40-millimeter dynamic drivers with a full 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response, so the raw audio fidelity is comparable. The difference lies in the experience: LOBKIN adds bass depth through active noise cancellation, while ONTA focuses on clear, uncolored sound through a direct wired connection.
Yes, the LOBKIN headphones contain a battery to power the active noise cancellation and Bluetooth transmitter. You must charge them regularly. The ONTA headphones do not have a battery and draw power directly from your device, so they never need charging.
The ONTA headphones are safer for very young children due to their food-grade, soft TPE materials that resist biting. The LOBKIN headphones use hard ABS plastic and contain electronic components, making them better suited for older kids and teens who understand how to treat electronics gently.
