Let me introduce myself: I am the owner, Richard Yonke, MSOM, LMT, a Licenced Acupuncturist in New York State (LAc). Appointments are for patients seeking Acupuncture treatments; I incorporate medical Massage Therapy to enhance the process of Acupuncture.

I am a 2002 graduate of New York College of Health Professions with a Bachelors of

Science and a Masters Degree in Oriental Medicine (MSOM). Earlier in 1997 I received my licence to perform Massage Therapy (LMT) from the New Center College with an Associates degree. The hands-on experience was what has propelled me into the practice I have created today.

Having worked alongside an array of physicians (i.e. physiatrists, orthopedists, neurologists, chiropractors, and physical therapists) I have gained the knowledge and skill to focus my practice on pain management. Acupuncture is an ancient healing art; hair-thin needles are applied to specific points of the body to manipulate the immune system and help the body maintain homeostasis—a systematic balance of form and function. An excellent treatment modality for pain management and other bodily imbalances, acupuncture has a low rate of side effects because it uses the body’s ability to heal itself. Treatment durations are typically 45–60 minutes.

I utilize medical massage therapy in all my acupuncture treatments; a few minutes of hands-on work increases blood flow and supports the treatment focus whether it’s lower back pain, rotator cuff or shoulder injuries, headaches, knee joint pain, shingles, or Bell's Palsy, just to name a few.
