OnlyReal is a Chrome extension that detects and optionally blurs likely AI-generated content on Instagram, X (Twitter), YouTube, and TikTok. OnlyReal is designed to operate on-device. It does not operate an OnlyReal backend server that receives your social feed, and it does not sell user data.
To provide filtering, OnlyReal’s content scripts read website content already displayed on the page (such as captions, titles, descriptions, alt text, and on-page media context) on supported sites only:

This processing happens locally in your browser for detection. OnlyReal does not upload that content to an OnlyReal server for analysis.
OnlyReal uses Chrome’s chrome.storage.local API to store data on the same computer/browser profile where the extension is installed:
Settings (protection on/off, detection sensitivity, enabled platforms and content types)
A short history of blocked items (platform, public handle if available, short excerpt, score, reason, timestamp)
History is automatically purged after 24 hours, capped at 200 items, and can be cleared anytime from the dashboard.
OnlyReal does not use chrome.storage.sync, so settings/history are not synced through Google account cloud storage by the extension.
Names, emails, phone numbers, or government IDs
Passwords or authentication credentials
Payment or financial information
Private messages
Precise location
Keystroke logging or mouse-tracking analytics
Advertising identifiers for ads personalization
storage — used only to save local settings and local 24-hour history.
Host access (supported sites only) — used so content scripts can read on-page content and apply a local blur overlay. OnlyReal does not request access to all websites.
OnlyReal does not load remote JavaScript from third-party servers. Extension popup and dashboard pages are packaged locally and configured to block outbound network requests.
Optional image analysis, when available, uses pixels already rendered in the page and a local Web Worker. OnlyReal does not re-download CDN images solely for analysis.
OnlyReal does not include analytics SDKs and does not sell or transfer user data to third parties for advertising or unrelated purposes.
OnlyReal is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If this policy changes in a material way, the “Last updated” date above will be revised. Continued use of the extension after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
