⁽¹⁾ (T/N: ‘공과 사 (gong-gwa sa)’ can be translated, like here, as ‘public and private matters’. ‘공 (gong)’ means ‘whole’, ‘a group/an organisation’ as well as ‘society/community’. ‘사 (sa)’ means ‘individual’, ‘part of a whole’ or ‘an entity’. ‘과 (gwa)’ means ‘and’. The pronunciation of those words is also the same as the sino-korean numbers ‘0&4’, ‘zero’ being pronounced as ‘공 (gong)’ and ‘four’ as ‘사 (sa)’)

⁽²⁾ (T/N: ‘종로 (Jongno)’ is a trunk road located in Seoul. Dongdaemun Market, one of the most well-known wholesale and retail shopping places in Korea, where you can buy a lot of different tools, is close-by)
