We have covered most of Washington's one-room schoolhouses in separate articles in Washington Rewind, but there are a few schools with such scant information that we present them here. The first four schools in this list were east of town and consolidated to form Pleasant View District #622.
COTTONWOOD SCHOOL
Cottonwood was on Cruger Road, across the street from 2136 Cruger Road. At some point, the school was moved to South Main St, and Father Time finally caught up with the building as it was demolished in 2022.
GREENRIDGE SCHOOL
Greenridge School was located at what is now 30618 Irish Lane and served the far southeast corner of the township. The school building still exists, with front walks and a water pump.
STORMER SCHOOL
The final Stormer School building was constructed around 1898 to replace a smaller, inadequate building. It is believed the building exists as a residence at 30437 Dutch Lane.
PLEASANT VIEW DISTRICT 22
The original Pleasant View still exists at 2143 Eureka Road, looking much different than back in the day
MAPLE STREET (EAST SIDE) SCHOOL
The home at 500 Maple Street on the east side of town was used as a school from approximately 1855 to 1877.
