Opposing kingdoms are distinguished by color. Today's black-and-white scheme was not yet standard in medieval Europe. When they were first discovered, some of the pieces from the Lewis hoard reportedly showed traces of red, which is also the case with some medieval game pieces in the Metropolitan's collection, including this one:

The twelfth-century treatise On Divers Arts by a monk known as Theophilus recommends that game pieces be dyed red with madder to set them apart, while the Book of Games of Alfonso X the Wise of Spain shows players using red-and-white as well as black-and-white pieces and boards.

i believe the scythe piece is an "activated" form of the scythe included with the ninjago weapons pack, but extended slightly; otherwise very good review! personally i'm a huge fan of the snake structure compared to the other 3 models, and the figures do their job (although i expect rattla with the euphemistic face to be available in more sets than this) so solid overall package for $10. here's hoping this summer gives us figures for lloyd and nya.

My BBEG is Dagon, the oldest of the Abyssal Demon Lords. The party is finally going to confront him directly for the first time-- BUT they do not yet possess the strength to defeat him. This battle is set up to be unwinnable (for now), and as the battle progresses, they will soon see just how powerful Dagon is, and how much danger they are actually in. Escape is their only option. The music needs to have a strong sense of urgency and power, but NOT have that sort of "heroic/hopeful" flair to it. This is NOT the time for heroics, its a dangerous prelude. I want it to be epic and edgy, but also dark and deadly. I want the song to just be DRIPPING with evil. I want the players to shit their gods-damned pants. I want them to think "oh my god the DM has lost his mind and is actually going to kill us"

Everything kids need for imaginative play

This buildable toy features 2 minifigures: a new-for-January-2021 Kai and a Legacy Skulkin from Seasons 1 and 2 of the LEGO NINJAGO TV series, while the included 4 red weapons add an extra dimension to the battle play.

"Niek van Slagmaat (toothdominoes) and I were tasked with designing these small price point battle packs between the ninjas and some familiar faces from the past. We each did two, and it was an excellent opportunity to see how much fun and value we could add to these smaller sets. In this one, I settled on a simple Torii early on since it's such a classic Ninjago icon, and played with various color schemes until the red/tan combo with the flame yellow tree stood out. Since we were including a spinning battle platform in each set, I included a simple dummy that can hold some of the extra weapons included in the pack. The weapon pack was designed by Esben Floe.

Get kids playing out ultimate good-versus-evil battles between hero kai and his nemesis. Featuring a cool spinning platform battle toy and a small brick-built temple, this ninja toy makes a great treat and will inspire kids to enjoy hours of captivating role play. This buildable toy features 2 Minifigures: Kai and a legacy Skulkin from seasons 1 and 2 of the LEGO NINJAGO TV series, while the included 4 red weapons add an extra dimension to the battle play. NINJAGO playsets encourage kids to step away from their screens to enjoy daring adventures in a fantasy world. They will love learning valuable life skills and teaming up with their ninja heroes as they play with an exciting collection of ninja toys including mechs, planes and dragons.

In the run-up to the game, we are playing a Shenandoah Valley 1862 campaign using Epic Battles models and rules, at my local Wollongong Wargamers club. This is a great starting point for getting to grips with American Civil War set Black Powder games as the battles were fairly small by the standard of the period. Our inaugural game in this campaign, First Kernstown, was a great success and has already given us food for thought in how to adjust the Black Powder rules to streamline play for such a huge game, whilst retaining the flavour of the iconic battle that was Gettysburg. So, fingers crossed, taking full advantage of these tiny, but Epic figures and the opportunities they provide, we are seizing the colours and storming the ramparts with the aim of once again putting on the biggest Gettysburg game ever (at least in the Southern Hemisphere!)

The Star Fragment is a crafting item in Epic Battle Fantasy 5. It is a shimmering yellow star-shaped chunk of what appears to be slightly cratered rock; however, the in-game description claims that it's actually a piece of a star. It is used to upgrade weapons associated with celestial objects or lightning to their last level.

Luffy's brother Ace made a big name for himself in One Piece's oceans before the Straw Hat captain set sail, and one big reason was an epic battle against a Warlord of the Sea that fans will likely never be able to see. The anime and manga have briefly alluded to Ace's adventures after leaving Dawn Island. Still, details of his exploits have been revealed in Sho Hinata's "Ace's Story" novels and in One Piece's manga chapter #1100, where he upset the balance of the pirate world.

In the past, Ace and Jimbei battled for five days straight until both were too exhausted to continue. However, One Piece #1100 revealed that the future Straw Hat helmsman was not the only Warlord of the Sea that Luffy's brother fought.

Elder Saint Saturn asked Kuma to become a Warlord of the Sea after Ace "...recently knocked out one of the seven." The identity of the unnamed member of the Seven Warlords is a One Piece mystery that includes an epic battle that fans will likely never witness.

If Kuma had not become a Warlord of the Sea, he wouldn't have been sent to Thriller Bark to confront Luffy. This confrontation led to the Straw Hats rescue and temporary disbandment in the following arc. In a way, Ace's battle against the Warlord proved to be a vital domino that would lead to his brother's rescue when he needed it most after punching a Celestial Dragon, which summoned Admiral Kizaru years before Luffy was ready to take him on. A victory that Ace would not survive to celebrate. Still, even after death, Ace's actions helped pave the way for his brother to become the King of the Pirates eventually.

The Seven Warlords made a mark on the world and readers, especially when they confronted Luffy and his crew. Each had considerable abilities that were more than a challenge to overcome, a feat that both Luffy and Ace would accomplish in their teens. Battles against the Warlords were some of the best One Piece fights in the anime. Still, it's unlikely Ace's newly revealed confrontation with the secret Warlord will ever be animated in One Piece's Egghead arc. It's a shame since it was likely another epic bout that caused ripples in the series' future events.

Pops has a nightmare about his upcoming fight with his brother Anti-Pops, and Mordecai and Rigby comfort him. A short time later, the park crew arrives at Lolliland. They meet a group of Lolliland natives: Frivola-Kranus, Quadravi-Kranus, and Weird Mushroom Guy. The natives explain that Pops is the perfect creation of their planet called Mega-Kranus and Anti-Pops was created as his opposite to maintain balance in the universe called Malum-Kranus, respectively. The natives show the park crew ancient tapestries of the previous battles between Pops and Anti-Pops, which detail prior incarnations of the park crew fighting alongside Pops. Knowing that all the prior battles have ended in a stalemate (resulting in the universe resetting), Mordecai comes up with setting traps for Anti-Pops to give Pops an upper hand, which he didn't have in previous battles. Pops reluctantly agrees to do so. After Anti-Pops and his bounty hunters arrive in an Uber-like taxi following the destruction of most of the former's ship, Pops tries to convince him not to fight because they are brothers. Anti-Pops refuses and attacks Pops but is caught in the traps laid by the park crew. The victory is short-lived, however, as Anti-Pops quickly escapes the traps.

To ensure his friends' survival, Pops makes a deal with Anti-Pops: whoever lands the first blow in battle gets to decide the fate of the universe. Pops successfully injures Anti-Pops, but Anti-Pops breaks the agreement and continues the fight. Streaming, who still has his sights on destroying the Disc Masters, suddenly arrives with his Stream Box Bot minions and aids Anti-Pops in the battle. Meanwhile, the park crew, HD DVD, Blu-ray, the Baby Ducks, Toothpick Sally, Recap Robot, Chance Sureshot (whose prior "death" in "Space Escape" is revealed to be that of a clone), the Guardians of Eternal Youth, Gary, Carter and Briggs, Death, Party Horse 42699, and the Guardian of Lolliland (who is supposed to remain neutral) fight against Anti-Pops's minions, Streaming, and the Stream Box Bots (who merge with their master to power him up) and manage to defeat them. However, Anti-Pops assumes his titan form and begins erasing Lolliland. The erasing of Muscle Man and Hi Five Ghost causes Pops to assume his titan form as well. Anti-Pops proceeds to erase the rest of Pops' allies and friends except Mordecai and Rigby, and kick his brother into a portal. Mordecai and Rigby realize that the only way to stop time from resetting is to get in between them while they are about to punch each other. As the two brothers' punches collide (with Mordecai and Rigby between their knuckles), it obliterates the entire universe and resets time. e24fc04721
