The ONCE UPON YOUR TIME project was born as an initiative of four countries in the European context: Iceland, Scotland, Slovenia, and Spain, aiming at an innovative methodology and actions that serve to prevent, solve and understand certain disruptive, antisocial or exclusionary attitudes among children and young people from 11 to 16 years old, especially in groups at risk of social exclusion.

The ONCE UPON YOUR TIME project are based on:

- The study of national tales and myths has always been carried out by linguists or anthropologists but has never been used in work with groups of children and young people at risk of school dropout and social exclusion.

- The methodology used in the project considers the different artistic aspects, child and youth psychology, therapeutic narrative, and oral expression.

These are approaches that are not often used in formal teaching in combination with stories. In addition, the use of personal biography to write a story makes this project a pioneer at the European level as a methodology for working with groups of children and young people in situations of school dropout and social exclusion.
