OAKDALE, Minn. -- OnApplied has released an update of the popular PipeDraft extension for SketchUp 3D application. The new release provides automated Building Information Modeling (BIM) schema classification of PipeDraft piping entities for paid subscribers of the Professional Edition (PE) and Enterprise Edition (EE) using SketchUp Pro 2015 M2 or greater.

The update provides classification to the Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) version 2 edition 3 schema (IFC2x3). Additional schemas will also be supported as BIM continues to advance across the industry and within SketchUp Pro software releases.

"We're delighted to release this foundational classification framework in support of our long term interoperability strategy. Feedback from our paid subscribers reinforces the importance of project collaboration across external teams regardless of the software tools used. We're very pleased to take this important step in support of the vision behind BIM interoperability.”
