OAKDALE, Minn. -- OnApplied has launched a new service offering for businesses that use the legacy PASCE 3D modeler to convert PlantVIEW "wfile" output into modern CAD file formats, such as DWG or DWF.
Early adopters have used the service to convert their process plant designs into AutoDesk's 3D DWF file format. This enables them to share their work-in-progress with their customers for design review purposes by using modern applications such as NavisWorks Freedom, a free walk-through application from AutoDesk.
"I haven't been this excited in ten years!" exclaimed one client. "This service -- combined with readily available CAD review software -- allows us to share our designs with the entire project team and get early feedback on how well we are meeting customer requirements."
The service also offers optional insertion of external 3D reference models -- such as construction workers or transportation equipment -- to provide walk-through review users with familiar objects to create a realistic sense of scale.
