My name is Omkar Bhalerao. I am a third year Ph.D. student in the Computer Science department at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC). I am fortunate to be advised by Prof. C. Seshadhri. Before joining UCSC, I earned my Masters in Computer Science from the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata. Here I had the opportunity to work with Prof. Saket Saurabh and Prof. Arijit Ghosh. Prior to joining ISI, I served as a Graduate Analyst at Barclays for nearly a year and half.
Broadly speaking, I am interested in designing provably efficient algorithms for analysing social networks. Recently, I have been working on developing efficient sampling schemes for counting patterns in massive temporal networks. I am also deeply interested in applying probabilistic techniques to develop fast algorithms for network analysis.
