OMA's Got Talent 2023 had a great turnout with impressive performances. New judges joined the panel, and OMA's performing arts club opened the show. The top three acts were Ben W, Josephine, and OMDNC, with OMDNC winning for their Hunger Games-inspired dance. These acts will advance to OAT's Got Talent for a chance at £1000. Thanks to all judges and teachers for their support.
Josephine, a Year 11 student, competed in the Ormiston Academies Trust regional finals for Ormiston Got Talent, traveling with friends and Miss Clarke to Wolverhampton. Out of 220 pupils from 14 OAT schools, Josephine earned first place with her singing performance. Everyone is proud of her and excited to see her at the OAT Final!
Josephine advanced to the regional finals, impressing everyone with her singing and securing 3rd place at the Grand Final in Birmingham. Her exceptional talent has made us incredibly proud, hinting at a potential superstar in the making!
The OMA Performing Arts club created and performed a unique musical, "Stuck in Oz!" inspired by "The Wizard of Oz," featuring favorite musical characters in swapped roles. Through auditions, rehearsals, fundraising, and set design, students showed incredible dedication. The show was a huge success, receiving great feedback from families and friends. As the year ended, the club honored its Year 11 students, with Harley being named Performer of the Year. The club is now preparing for the next "OMA's Got Talent" and looks forward to an exciting 2024/2025. What an incredible year it has been!
