Donna Lewin, MA, MSW, LCSW
Administrative Director, Osher Center for Integrative Medicine
With over 30 years of experience in mindfulness meditation, Donna has also completed a course on mindfulness-based stress reduction. She has a master’s degree in religious studies with an emphasis on Buddhist meditation practices from the University of Virginia and a master’s of social work for California State University, Long Beach. She has worked extensively in hospice and with people with AIDS, incorporating meditation and mindfulness practices into her work. She has taught meditation at The House of Ruth in Los Angeles, a center with the goal of empowering women to move from abuse to independence. At her previous position at UW, Donna led a daily morning mindfulness practice for staff.
Donna has worked at UW for more than 13 years, with all but one of them in the Department of Family Medicine. She has been the Research Section Manager and the Administrator for MEDEX, the physician assistant program, before becoming the Adminstrative Director for the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine.
