Olivier De Groote

Welcome to my homepage. I obtained my PhD from KU Leuven in 2018. I became an assistant professor at the Toulouse School of Economics and was granted tenure in February 2025. I am also a research affiliate of the IZA.

My research is on empirical microeconomics, within the fields of labor economics and industrial organization. I worked on educational policies (early tracking and choices of school/daycare/college) and environmental policies (solar panel subsidies). For this, I often applied and extended the literature on the estimation of dynamic discrete choice models.

Since March 2025, my research has been funded by an ERC starting grant: EDDYNCHOICE. This grant will allow me to further develop dynamic discrete choice modeling of educational decisions. I'm also one of the organizers of the TSE Economics of Education Workshop. See also our new website for our work and activities in this field.
