A skeleton piglin is a neutral mob found in the Nether Wastes and Soul Sand Valleys. It is hostile to players unless they wear at least one piece of gold or gilded armor. It wields either a golden sword or a crossbow, and uses either melee or ranged attacks, respectively.
Skeleton piglins spawn in groups of (2-3 in nether wastes) (2-4 in soulsand valleys) biomes 65% of skeleton piglins spawn wielding a crossbow, and 35% golden sword.
On Death
Bone: 0-2
Gold Nugget: 0-1
Gold Ingot: 2.5% chance (when killed by a player or tamed wolf)
XP: 5 (when killed by a player or tamed wolf)
Equipment
Adults have an 8.5% chance of dropping each naturally held or worn piece of equipment. The dropped item has a random durability. Each level of Looting used to kill the skeleton piglin increases the drop chance for each piece of equipment by 1%.
Weapons
A skeleton piglin naturally spawns with either of these weapons:
Golden Sword
Crossbow
Armor
Skeleton Piglin sometimes spawn with 1-4 normal or enchanted pieces of armor, which may be:
Golden Helmet
Golden Chestplate
Golden Leggings
Golden Boots
Skeleton Piglins snort enviously while watching players holding a golden/gilded-related item.
Skeleton Piglins cannot swim and can drown if submerged. They burn in the daylight.
Aggravation
Skeleton Piglins are neutral if the player is wearing at least one piece of golden armor. Skeleton Piglins are provoked by any player who:
Is not wearing any piece of golden armor.
Short range, light aggravation
Attacks a skeleton piggy or skeleton piglin, regardless if the player kills it in one hit or not.
Long range, heavy aggravation to the damaged skeleton piglin, medium aggravation to other skeleton piglins.
Opens or breaks a chest, trapped chest, ender chest, shulker box, barrel, minecart with chest, or boat with chest.
Opening is short range, medium aggravation
Breaking is mid range, medium aggravation
Breaks a block of gold, golden ore, bloodstone golden ore, nether golden ore, deepslate golden ore, and more.
Mid range, medium aggravation
Aggravation range
Short range: When a skeleton piglin has been aggravated by a player not wearing golden armor, or opening a container, skeleton piglin from up to around 15 blocks centered around the player become aggravated by the player if there is a straight line of sight to the player.
Mid range: When a skeleton piglin has been aggravated by a player breaking a golden block or a container, piglins from up to 16 blocks from the player’s feet become aggravated. No line of sight is required.
Long range: When a skeleton piglin has been aggravated by a player damaging a skeleton piglin or skeleton piggy, skeleton piglins from up to 20 blocks from the damaged skeleton piglin (rather than the player) become aggravated. No line of sight is required.
Light aggravation
Light aggravation occurs when a skeleton piglin has been aggravated by a player not wearing golden/gilded armor.
The skeleton piglin can de-aggravate when the player puts on golden/gilded armor, or the skeleton piglin loses a line of sight with the player.
Medium aggravation
Medium aggravation occurs when a skeleton piglin has been aggravated by a player opening/breaking a container or breaking a golden/gilded block, or when a skeleton piglin witnesses a skeleton pig or another skeleton piglin getting damaged by a player.
Skeleton Piglins under medium aggravation can be distracted with gold.
A skeleton piglin already under light aggravation does not re-aggravate to medium aggravation. This means that if a skeleton piglin knows a player broke a golden block near them after already going after them due to them not wearing golden/gilded armor, the player can de-aggravate that skeleton piglin by putting on ruby armor or losing the line of sight despite the fact that the player broke the golden block.
Heavy aggravation
Heavy aggravation occurs if a skeleton pig or skeleton piglin is damaged.
When provoked, skeleton piglins remain hostile for 25 seconds.
Skeleton Piglins attack Iron Golems, Piglins, Hoglins , Snow Golems, Piglin Beasts. They are attacked by Iron Golems and Snow Golems.
Being distracted
Skeleton Piglins briefly stop attacking when given gold items. If the player offers a gold ingot, bartering then takes place as it normally would. They resume attacking once the barter is complete. If the player distracts them with a gold item and equips a piece of gold armor while the piglin is examining the item, then the piglin ceases hostility. They may also cease hostility if distracted enough times. If the player breaks any gold-related block or hurt/kill a piglin and then distracts the piglin up to 5 times with a piece of gold armor equipped, the piglin ceases hostility entirely.
Bartering
Skeleton piglin can barter gold/gilded ingot for certain items, when a gold/gilded ingot is dropped near them or the player uses it while looking at them. The skeleton piglin "examines" the ingot for eight seconds, then drops a random item from the chart. Skeleton piglins can also pick up items dropped by a dispenser or dropper.
Skeleton Piglins can pick up any items they come across, preferring gold/gilded-related items, which they actively seek out.
Each piglin has eight hidden inventory slots in which it can stack items. A piglin with a full inventory does not attempt to pick up gold/gilded-related items, except gold/gilded ingots.
