A piglet is a passive animal that does not spawn naturally, it is a cross between a pig and a piggy. Piglets are a source of ham and can be ridden if equipped with a saddle.
Does not spawn naturally. It is born from the cross between a Pig and a Piggy.
Breeding
Piglets can be bred using carrots, potatoes or beetroots. After breeding, the parents have a cooldown of 5 minutes before they can breed again. Baby piglets mature in 20 minutes and stay near their parents. Feeding them reduces the remaining time to maturity by 10%.
Breeding
1–9 xp upon successful breeding
On Death
Ham: 1-3
XP: 1-4 (when killed by a player or tamed wolf)
Piglets roam the Overworld avoiding hazards and harmful falls. A piglet flees for a short time when harmed.
Piglets follow players holding carrots, potatoes, beetroots or carrots on sticks within a radius of six blocks.
When a piglet or baby piglet is struck by lightning, it transforms into a piglan or baby piglan, respectively. If the piglet was equipped with a saddle, the saddle is lost and the player dismounts.
Riding
It is possible to ride an adult piglet by using a saddle on it. When a saddle is used on a pig, the piglet might stare at the player for a few seconds. Saddled pigs are controllable with a carrot on a stick. They start slow but accelerate to 7.80 blocks/s (50% faster than a common pig). Baby piglets cannot be saddled nor ridden.
Piglet cannot float on water when being controlled. Piglets can be controlled through 1-block-high bodies of water with a carrot and stick, but deeper water causes the player to dismount. Using the carrot on a stick while riding a piglet makes it run faster at the cost of 7 durability. If the pig and rider fall, then fall damage doesn't cause any knockback or slower movement speed.
A player can travel through a space 1 block high by riding a piglet.
Zombification
If a Piglet dies fighting a zombie pigman, zombie piglin, zombie piggy, ancient zombie pigman, zombie pig, zombie hoglin, zombie piglin beast or zombie hog there is a 50% chance of being zombified (on the hard difficulty it is 100%)
If a Piglet dies while fighting a Wither-related entity, there is a 50% chance of withering away (on Hard difficulty it's 100%).
Curing
Giving a zombie piglet the Weakness effect and then feeding it a carrot starts the curing process. After five minutes, it transforms into a piglet, displaying purple Nausea status effect particles for 10 seconds after being cured.
