A piglan is a neutral monster born from a DNA mixing experiment between a piglin and a pigman. It wields a ruby, gold, or taaffeite sword, or a crossbow, and uses melee or ranged attacks, respectively.
Does not spawn naturally. The player must create a piglan spawn egg using a combination of pigman and piglin DNA.
Obtaining Piglin and Pigman DNA
You must use a syringe on a piglin or pigman respectively, when using it there is a 3% chance of obtaining their DNA.
After obtaining both DNAs you must place each one next to a syringe in a brewing stand as follows:
On Death
Ham: 0-1
Ruby Fragment or Gold Nugget: 0-1
Feather: 0-1
String: 0-1
Ruby, Taaffeite or Gold Ingot: 15% chance
XP: 5 (when killed by a player or tamed wolf)
Equipment
They naturally wield ruby, taaffeite or gold swords, and can also use crossbows. They equip ruby, taaffeite and gold armor respectively. They will always prioritize tools, swords and armor of a higher level, for example they equip diamond armor before iron armor.
Piglans are hostile to Zombie Piglin Beast, Zombie Hoglin, Wither, Skeleton, Blaze, Ancient Zombie Pigman, and Zombie Pigman Brute.
They do not attack players unless provoked. If a Wild Piglan is provoked it will become enraged and all Piglans, Wild Pigmans, and Piglins will retaliate against the entity that attacked them.
Like villagers, evil pigmans can open and close wooden doors but cannot open fence gates, all trapdoors, and iron doors. They also cannot climb ladders.
They are naturally immune to fire or lava and can float on water.
They can be cured by feeding them a carrot, golden carrot or a gilded carrot.
Zombification
Unlike Pigmans or Piglins, the Overworld/Nether/End does not cause any zombification effect on them.
If a Piglan dies fighting a zombie pigman, zombie piglin, zombie piggy, ancient zombie pigman, zombie pig, zombie hoglin, zombie piglin beast or zombie hog there is a 50% chance of being zombified (on the hard difficulty it is 100%)
If a Piglan dies while fighting a Wither-related entity, there is a 50% chance of withering away (on Hard difficulty it's 100%).
Taming:
Piglans can be tamed by feeding them a golden carrot, once tamed they will chase, protect and attack those who attack their owner.
When tamed they will attack all types of monsters on their own except for the following: creepers, piglins, zombie pigmans, zombie piglins, endermans, piggies, hoglins, hoglin brutes and piglin beasts.
Bartering
Piglan can barter taaffeite for certain items, when a taaffeite is dropped near them or the player uses it while looking at them. The piglan "examines" the taaffeite for eight seconds, then drops a random item from the chart. Piglans can also pick up items dropped by a dispenser or dropper.
