The video features ringtones, alerts, alarms and more that Sakamoto composed for the Nokia 8800 mobile phone released in 2005. Also included is Sakamoto's piano arrangement of the classic Nokia ringtone composed by Francisco Trrega. In addition to the pre-loaded sounds, there are rips from related software, CDs and website.

Nokia Ringtones, specifically the Nokia Lumia 800 Ringtone or Nokia Tune Remix, refers to the sound progression of the default ringtone of Nokia brand cellphones titled "Nokia Tune" that were used from the company's origin to the late 2010s. The progression of sounds later landed on TikTok in a compilation video and gained traction as a sound effect as users rated each ringtone in a Smash or Pass style format. The ringtone of the Nokia Lumia 800 was the standout due to its elaborate nature and similarities to EDM and dubstep, however, the TikTok mistakenly labeled the ringtone as the Nokia Lumia 800's when it actually came from the Nokia 113 and Nokia Lumia 1020.

On October 18th, 2022, the TikTok[1] page unboxing_dna posted a video that played every "Nokia Tune" ringtone ranging from the Nokia 2110 (1993) to the Nokia 8 (2017). Over the course of three days, the video received roughly 3.4 million plays and 632,400 likes (shown below).

At the 0:39-second mark of the aforementioned TikTok video, the "Nokia tune" ringtone for the Nokia Lumia 800 (2011) plays and eventually inspired the most amount of reactions online, however, the TikTok misidentified the ringtone that they played. In fact, the "Nokia Tune" ringtone they labeled as the Nokia Lumia 800's was actually a part of the Nokia 113 (2012).

As evidence, on January 14th, 2017, YouTuber Alexei Tarulis uploaded a video in which he played every ringtone on a Nokia 113. At the 5:10-minute mark (shown below, left) he played the "Nokia Tune" ringtone. A different video posted by YouTuber Nokia Ringtone Videos on August 12th, 2017, showcases the Nokia Lumia 800's actual "Nokia Tune" ringtone at its 13:31-minute mark (shown below, right).

The ringtone was also listed as the "Nokia Tune Remix" on the Nokia Lumia 1020 model (2013). In a November 25th, 2017, video uploaded by Nokia Ringtone Videos, at the 15:16-minute mark, the "Nokia Tune Remix" plays (shown below).

After unboxing_dna's TikTok video in October 2022, multiple users posted videos reacting to the ringtones. For instance, on October 20th, 2022, Lil Nas X posted a "Smash or Pass" TikTok,[2] rating the Nokia ringtones. In one day, the video received roughly 2.2. million plays and 381,000 likes (shown below, left). Also on October 20th, 2022, TikToker[3] jynjomusic proclaimed in a video, "EDM artists to watch out for: Nokia Lumia 800," gaining roughly 4,500 plays in one day (shown below, right). 17dc91bb1f
