Okhwan Lee is Principle Software Engineer at Samsung Electronics, Suwon, Korea. He received his Ph. D. at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Seoul National University (SNU), Korea in 2015. Since 2015, he have joined Samsung Electronics as the senior engineer. The topic of Ph. D. dissertation is robust and energy efficient MAC and physical layer design of the emerging Wi-Fi, e.g., IEEE 802.11n and IEEE 802.11ac. His primal research interest is to developing and designing effective and practical future wireless communication systems and implementing those prototype using software-defined radio (SDR) and open source device drivers.
Since with Ph. D., he has experienced on the the various areas of wireless system software, such as 5G NR vRAN, Smallcell, Wi-Fi, and BLE. Especillay, he is recognized as Samsung Certified Software Architect through the well designed modem software for the commercial off-the-shelf 5G NR Smallcell product. He is currently working on the fully virtualized 5G RAN (Radio Access Networks.), the world's first in commercializing 5G vRAN.
Areas of expertise include virtualized software solution, 3GPP/Wi-Fi based algorithm design and development, designing software, and object-oriented programming (Modern C++).
