Ohki gave three poster presentations about low-rank filters and data-driven predictive control at SICE Festival with Annual Conference 2026 during 14-17, Sep., 2026, in Yokohama, Japan, with Wu and Uchida (Kyoto University)
Our paper about model order reduction for open quantum systems with Miguel Casanova and Francesco Ticozzi (the University of Padua) is accepted in the Automatica (19th August, 2026)
Our paper about emotion recognition via quantum machine learning with Yoshida, Ono, and Futagami (Doshisha University) is accepted in the Journal of Quantum Computing (5th August, 2026, published at 7th Sep.)
Ohki gave a presentation about model order reduction at IFAC World Congress 2026 in Busan, Korea, with my former student Tsuzuki (Kyoto University), during 24-28, August, 2026
Ohki gave a presentation about data-driven predictive control at IEEE CCTA 2026 in Vancouver, Canada, with Uchida (Kyoto University, Kashima lab), during 12-14, August, 2026
Eighteen B3 students will enroll in this laboratory from September, 2026
The website was launched in August 2026
The lab was launched in April 2026
Our laboratory, the Quantum Related Technology Laboratory (QRTL), conducts research on classical and/or quantum dynamical systems, including quantum control and filtering theory, quantum state smoothing, controller synthesis, nonlinear filtering, model order reduction, statistical inference, and related applied mathematics topics. It seems diverse, but all themes are grounded in mathematics and physics from a control and estimation perspective.
For undergrad students belonging to the Department of Applied Computer Engineering, Tokai University: Our common tools are basic math like linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics. If you would like to join us, I strongly recommend studying these subjects on your own and learning how to use them. GPA is not a criterion for selecting new lab members, but the curioucity for applied mathematics is quite important.
For those joining as master's students or Ph. D. candidates: If you are interested in joining our lab as a graduate student, please contact Ohki before applying for the entrance exam. Especially for Ph.D. candidates, no one will be accepted without an appointment with Ohki in advance.
For postdoc positions: If you are interested in joining our group, please contact Ohki anyway. We currently do not offer postdoc positions, but I can apply for funds to hire postdocs, or you can apply for JSPS's research fellowship programs.
