In September 2015, several colour profile standards were revised and published by the International Color Consortium (ICC). Today, the use of ICC profiles is commonplace in the graphics arts industry and we at Onlineprinters also use them to produce higher quality prints.

When it comes to printing, paper types are challenging because of their different colouring and texture. The same print ink and artwork can look completely different depending on the paper stock. Colour profiles aim to create consistent and predictable colour results on different devices by accounting for the characteristics of paper types and printing techniques.

ICC profiles are continuously developed further. The colour profiles relevant for print shops (PSO coated & uncoated) have been available in an updated version since 2015. The latest version 3 of this standard promises even better colour reproduction, especially on natural papers. But the 12647-2:2013 printing standard also specifies new requirements for measurement technology, standard illumination and proof papers.

In Photoshop you can also install colour profiles globally. To do so, choose Edit > Color Settings. The dialog box looks slightly different but basically contains the same setting options as InDesign.

Not all blacks print the same. It makes quite a difference in the print result whether you set up an object as K100 or C40 M40 Y70 K100 (example), a so-called rich black. By adding cyan, magenta and yellow, you can create a rich deep black or adjust it for warmer or cooler tones. K100 black is needed for plain body text.

IsoBuster 5.2 features a ton of new functionality again. Quite a few new compressed image file formats such as *.imgc, *.iso.gz, *.cso etc. are now supported. Also new is support for 'Apple Single' and 'Apple Double' extraction from Mac MFS and HFS(+) file systems. But that is not all of course, this version features a lot more new stuff and improvements

I have a disc image with the .iso file extension. Mounting this brings up contents that look much like I would expect from something 20 years ago on a pre-OSX Mac. When I do a mount command in Terminal, it shows this file as mounting with the HFS filesystem (confirming my suspicions). But this was not a Mac-only disc, it's an image of a hybrid disc (or so I believe).

You can check that the .iso file does indeed have an HFS/HFS+ volume on it with the file command (I can't remember if this is native or if I installed it via homebrew... might have to do that yourself):

@wiretown82 -- I have accessed the BIOS many times and although the two mechanical hdd show up and are connected, only the corsair SSD shows in BIOS settings. l i am trying to do is install my windows10 .iso onto the main SSD drive (which does show up in the BIOS)

Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) is a technical standard for the digital storage and transmission of medical images and related information.[1] It includes a file format definition, which specifies the structure of a DICOM file, as well as a network communication protocol that uses TCP/IP to communicate between systems. The primary purpose of the standard is to facilitate communication between the software and hardware entities involved in medical imaging, especially those that are created by different manufacturers. Entities that utilize DICOM files include components of picture archiving and communication systems (PACS), such as imaging machines (modalities), radiological information systems (RIS), scanners, printers, computing servers, and networking hardware.

To promote identical grayscale image display on different monitors and consistent hard-copy images from various printers, the DICOM committee developed a lookup table to display digitally assigned pixel values. To use the DICOM grayscale standard display function (GSDF),[14] images must be viewed (or printed) on devices that have this lookup curve or on devices that have been calibrated to the GSDF curve.[15]

The DICOM print service is used to send images to a DICOM printer, normally to print an "X-Ray" film. There is a standard calibration (defined in DICOM Part 14) to help ensure consistency between various display devices, including hard copy printout.

The core application of the DICOM standard is to capture, store and distribute medical images. The standard also provides services related to imaging such as managing imaging procedure worklists, printing images on film or digital media like DVDs, reporting procedure status like completion of an imaging acquisition, confirming successful archiving of images, encrypting datasets, removing patient identifying information from datasets, organizing layouts of images for review, saving image manipulations and annotations, calibrating image displays, encoding ECGs, encoding CAD results, encoding structured measurement data, and storing acquisition protocols.

DICOM is also implemented by devices associated with images or imaging workflow including, PACS (picture archiving and communication systems), image viewers and display stations, CAD (computer-aided detection/diagnosis systems), 3D visualization systems, clinical analysis applications, image printers, Film scanners, media burners (that export DICOM files onto CDs, DVDs, etc.), media importers (that import DICOM files from CDs, DVDs, USBs, etc.), RIS (radiology information systems), VNA (vendor-neutral archives), EMR (electronic medical record) systems, and radiology reporting systems

I know this thread has been around for a few months but figure I'd reply with an answer. It is possible to extract the iso off SACD discs for storage and playback on your pc. You can have the entire disc as an iso with multichannel and stereo tracks plus you can rip the individual DST (DSD) tracks. I playback sacd iso's and tracks using Foobar with the sacd plugin. Ripping to iso is the tricky part as SACD discs aren't playable yet in pc's disc drives. To save the iso and tracks requires a PS3 (playstation) with sacd drive and only up to a certain firmware works. There is someone working on modifying a drive so it can be done with a pc, but as far as I know this isn't available yet. Usually the way to get the iso now is to have the correct PS3 or find others who will share their rips. It's too bad it's so hard as many of these discs are out of print and very expensive meaning you can't replace them or back them up.

You may receive an error message when saving artwork thatincludes linked EPS files, if those files were saved in binary format(for example, in Photoshop's default EPS format). In this case, resave the EPS files in ASCII format, embed the linked files intothe Illustrator artwork, or save the artwork in AI or PDF formatinstead of EPS format.

If you choose a CS format, specifyhow to save overlapping colors that are set to overprint, and selecta preset (or set of options) for flattening transparency. ClickCustom to customize the flattener settings.

Embeds all fonts that contain appropriate permissions from the font vendor. Embedding fonts ensures that the original font is displayed and printed if the file is placed into another application, such as Adobe InDesign. However, if the file is opened in Illustrator on a computer that does not have the font installed, the font will be faux or substituted. This is to prevent illegal use of the embedded font.

The segmentation is based on table, segment and object lengths, as well as the printed video marks, with the result that objects which are no longer than the maximum table length and can not be completely cut in the current segment, will never be split.

What is AirPrint?Apple AirPrint allows full colour, top-quality printing from iOS devices such as iPhones and iPads directly from within many Apps available from the Apple App Store.

AirPrint enables users to print wirelessly from within applications on Apple devices to AirPrint Compatible Printers connected to a wireless network. You can use your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad to easily print via Airprint without the need to install drivers or configure the printer queue. Just tap 'print' and select your AirPrint compatible printer, and print!....It's that simple.

What You See is What You Print

If you can open it on your apple device, chances are you can print it with AirPrint and an AirPrint compatible printer. Airprint works with Safari, Mail, Photos, iWork, PDF's in iBooks and many third-party AirPrint compatible apps available from the app store.

There are also a wide variety of third-party apps available to enable wireless printing through Apple devices, even to machines that are not natively AirPrint compatible printers. By sharing a printer installed on an Apple Mac or Windows Pc over a wireless network any printer may be able to take advantage of the AirPrint features. (An additional third-party app may be required to be installed on the local machine)
