Ohaio Soap

We began making our own soap in Japan in 2015 after having adverse reactions to store-bought soaps.

Recently, we relocated to Ohio (which also happens to mean 'good morning' in Japanese - O・hai・o).

But an international move didn't stop us from making great, simple soap! We hope you like it as much as we do!

Responsible

We understand how important it is to take care of the place that we live. After it goes down the drain, cold-process soap remnants are broken down naturally in a day or two. We also make an effort to use biodegradable and/or recycled packaging where possible.

Reasonable

We're a small team of 2 and we do our best to price our soaps reasonably while delivering great quality. We could use less expensive, synthetic fragrances to increase profit, but ...actually, we couldn't do that. After all, we use them, too!

Simple

Our handmade cold-process soaps are as simple as we can make them. No additives, detergents, fancy shapes, or even coloring to catch your eye.

Simply soap (Oil, Water, Lye) with a naturally refreshing scent (Essential Oil).

Our soap is safe to wash your hands, face, body, and even your hair. But every body’s different, so test it out on yourself first - just to make sure. Between uses, store your soap where all sides are exposed to the air to drip and air dry. (We put ours on a little bowl of smaller stones.) We also offer a variety of soaps for dogs, dishes, and laundry stains!
