In the fall of 2021, fate brought us together in a shared lecture hall. Annemarie knew Cal Poly was the right fit after seeing “Graphic Communication” on Building 26. Caroline applied to Cal Poly on a whim, not even knowing what Graphic Communication was. Tyler, with family ties to Cal Poly, applied to the program too, despite dreams of photography or graphic design.
Despite our different paths, we clicked instantly on the first day of Graphic Communication 101. Sitting in the same row, we introduced ourselves and became fast friends, laughing over the smallest things and supporting each other through tough times. Our shared love for creating led us to our senior project—a magazine that’s more than just an assignment. It’s a celebration of our friendship, a reflection of our college journey, and a tribute to our passion for Graphic Communication. We hope our passion shines through as you flip through it.

This magazine was created to showcase our favorite spots to eat and drink in San Luis Obispo. We find that there is no cohesive place to find the best food and drinks in SLO from a student and lifestyle perspective. To close that gap and inspire our target audience while also shedding light on local businesses, we have created Oh SLO Good! As you read through this magazine, you will be able to explore the local community through the business owners' stories and really discover that small-town charm that makes SLO such a special spot.
