Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps  is a high school elective program sponsored by the United States Air Force that focuses on developing students into better citizens and leaders.Through aerospace education, leadership training, physical fitness, and community services, cadets learn teamwork and self-discipline. Air Force Junior ROTC is not a military recruitment program. Students who participate are not obligated to join the military after graduation. AFJROTC is designed to help students succeed in school, life, and future careers, whether or not they pursue military services. The Delaware County AFJROTC Unit at Delaware Hayes High School serves students not only from Hayes but also from surrounding districts: Olentangy, Big Walnut, Buckeye Valley, Delaware Christian, etc.
