The conference will be organized at Khazar University, Baku, Azerbaijan.

Currency

Azerbaijan’s national currency is the Manat, divided into 100 gapiks (q) with coins available in 10q, 20q and more rarely 50q denominations. The manat, roughly equivalent to 0.5 Euro. Credit cards are accepted in most hotels and restaurants, but not generally in cafes and small local shops.

Transport

If you cannot speak local languages (Azeri or Russian) it’s usually safest to jump into one of the London-style cabs, painted an egg-plant purple. Unlike other taxis that you’ll find on the streets (mostly white or yellow), the London-style cabs work strictly on the meter. It is customary to tip by rounding the fare up to the nearest Manat. Landmarks are often better than addresses when instructing the driver, few of whom speak much, if any, English.
