NOTE: Though this Gawain can show the loyal golden retriever elements often seen in Fate canon's Gawain, he is not like that completely. He is ruthless and enjoys being ruthless.
He follows the canon of Roman de Brut and the Vulgate/Post-Vulgate far more than other interpretations of Gawain. Meaning he is bloodthirsty, manipulative, a golden-tongued two-faced liar, and only participated in the quest for the Grail for good food, drinks, and sex. There's not a pious bone in his body.
Thanks to his mother's teachings, Gawain is especially skilled in the art of healing and crafting medicines. That being said, he has no talent at making food that's at all edible. While it may look amazing, the taste and ingredients are questionable at best. Keep him to making medicines instead.
Gawain's hatred for Pellinore consumed him from childhood, causing him to extend that hatred towards the man's children and any allies they had. Only his fellow Knights were spared the worst of his spite. You can't reason with him in regards to this, not even Gareth could in life.
Additionally he has an extreme hatred towards Mordred for his treachery and will be hostile towards any Mordreds he may encounter.
Gawain's primary method of fighting is hand to hand, enhanced by his solar blessing for both strength and endurance as well as the solar flames engulfing his fists. When he does use Galatine, the fires engulf the blade as well.
He's extremely proud of his both his face and his body and has no shame about either and will make jokes about his looks too.
He likes to sleep around and is shameless about it. Despite this please remember that his flirting is not intentions for having a ship nor for even writing a casual friends with benefits situation. As stated in the rules of the blog, such things are off the table with my muses.

The eldest son of King Lot/Gwyar of Orkney and his wife Anna/Morgause.
Born to be a king with a divine blessing in the form of his strength being enhanced to ten times the original amount as long as it is daylight, regardless of weather or if he's indoors, he is the mightiest of the Knights of the Round Table. Struck by the murder of his father at a young age, Gawain swore vengeance against King Pellinore, and it consumed him to make him an Avenger Servant.

"The sons of Lot were passing good haters."
He can't be reasoned with any more than one could reason with a force of nature. Once his mind is made up, it becomes set in stone. A dangerous man who uses others with a smile on his face and a blade in his hands. Really, the only person who could hope to even keep him slightly leashed is his King.
Even a Master may struggle with this Avenger.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gawain's earliest memories were of the castle in Orkney, always warm with fires to ward off the chill of the sea winds on those northern islands. The sun in the courtyard streaming down, making his mother's hair shine like gold and bringing out the dark red in his father's hair. Laughter and love and light, filling the prince's heart with joy and hope. Such feelings that only grew with each new sibling that joined the family as the years went on.
Such warm and happy memories, torn away in one horrible moment when he was but eleven years of age.
His father went to war in the south, infuriated by the words of the young King Arthur's mage advisor. And Gawain went with him, for at eleven years old it was custom for the eldest son to accompany his father. That was always how the royal family of Orkney and Lothian had operated, after all. The boy would be safe, remaining in King Lot's tent to study the battlefield tactics from afar with the tasks of cleaning and mending weapons and armor. How best for the son of a warrior king to learn than in person?
But it was this custom that shattered the young boy's psyche.
Gawain saw firsthand the moment King Pellinore suddenly arrived unannounced on the battlefield.
The moment the roaming man's blade struck his father, killing him without warning.
It was said that when the battle ended with the shocking death of King Lot, the grieving wails and screams of his horrified son struck all the men on the field. None knew it had all been a ploy of Merlin's. All Gawain knew was his father had just been brutally killed, his head torn from his body with the force of Pellinore's strike. Even as Pellinore apologized and explained himself to a stunned Arthur, the flames of hatred ignited in the boy's heart.
And Gawain swore then and there that he would kill Pellinore as vengeance and justice, no matter what it took.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was years later that Gawain was finally able to achieve his desire, slaying Pellinore in secret one day when the King left Arthur's court to continue his hunt for the Questing Beast.
But by then, the fires of vengeance and hatred could not be quenched.
Gawain would never be satisfied with killing one old man. And yet despite his crime he remained in Arthur's court, the deed only known in secret by his brothers, Arthur himself, and the Seneschal and Marshal. Of course, Gawain's brothers were on his side. But the three older men did not approve even if they understood the reasons why he had done the deed, though they could not even respect the method. So Arthur took Gawain to his private office, with Kay and Bedivere in attendance, and told his nephew thus:
"You will not repeat this offense, nephew. Hate the sons of Pellinore all you wish, but you will not take any of their lives, understood? We will all be watching you, so now put aside your grudge and be a proper knight."
A command the Knight of Midday had no choice but to obey, especially when later Arthur made a spectacle of swearing that Pellinore's favored son, Lamorak, would always be protected by him.
A sentiment that rankled Gawain and most of his kin greatly. The youngest, Gareth, however, was unaffected. For there was little point in continuing a blood feud for no reason, in Gareth's opinion.
But though the leash chaffed Gawain obeyed its pull, and performed as a knight should for years. Serving with loyalty and honor and might. If no small amount of petty and spiteful words thrown at the sons of Pellinore who would eventually come to join the court of King Arthur.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sadly not even his Kingly uncle could hold back the tides of hatred forever.
Though Gawain nursed a private grudge, he refused to act on it against the sons of Pellinore as he was ordered for years. Until, one day, Gaheris came with twofold news. Lamorak had been in a relationship with their mother, now widowed for years and thus something that Gawain cared little for besides disgust. And that, upon discovering this, Gaheris had thusly killed the queen of Orkney.
That caught Gawain's attention, and a brawl nearly started between the siblings.
Gaheris then continued with a terrible, monstrous idea: They could use their mother's murder to get rid of more of Pellinore's line. All they would need to do would be to spread word that it was her lover who took her life, then their actions would be justified. While Agravaine and Mordred readily agreed, Gareth expressed outrage and disgust, recoiling from the three conspirators with fury and disdain. Gawain alone remained silent, torn on following his heart's desire for revenge or following his loyalty to the King's word. Unfortunately, the flames of hatred were stoked to a frenzy he could not ignore by Agravaine's insidious words, despite Gareth insisting they need not do anything.
"Gawain! Surely you see the madness in this act?!"
"...No, Gareth. Our brothers have the right of it. We will take Lamorak's head, for our mother need not have died had the wretched son of Pellinore not overstepped his bounds."
"Overstepped his-?! You all speak nothing but madness! Take heed, then: any one of you who do this is no longer my kin! I will not be party to evil deeds done in the name of a man who has been dead for well over twenty years!"
"Gareth! You forget yourself! Our father-!"
"Ha! Our father! Our father! You all love to throw around the weight of a man I've never known! I'll remove your heads from your shoulders should I find out that you've disobeyed the King after Gaheris wretchedly slew Mother! I swear I shall for you will no longer be of my family!"
And so Gareth fled the room, furious and hurting at his brothers' decisions.
It was the only regret Gawain could bring himself to feel, the pain of being rejected so by his beloved youngest kinsman. But he did not allow it to sway him from his path.
The terrible deed was done, with two of Pellinore's sons dead and abandoned on the road as if they were nothing more than common brigands.
