Reviver of Alchemy
A Venus Adept from the village of Vale at the base of the sacred volcano Mt Aleph and the older brother to Jenna. Thought dead for three years following a catastrophic and supernatural storm that struck his hometown, Felix returned with the Mars Clan duo of Saturos and Menardi to steal the Elemental Stars from their resting place in Sol Sanctum, deep in the mountain. His reasons for this were eventually revealed to be in order to save his parents, and to restore Alchemy to Weyard.
NAME: Felix
AGE: 21
ELEMENT: Earth
CLASS: Venus Adept
HEIGHT: 5'8
PRONOUNS: He/Him
SEXUALITY: Gay
NOTES: I will not be using icons for interactions with Felix due to a lack of official material.
Felix has an intense fear of water stemming from nearly drowning as a teenager during the Vale disaster and then again from when he jumped from the Venus lighthouse to try to save Sheba. He also is completely unable to swim and finds it exceptionally difficult to use his Psynergy when at sea.
As a Venus Adept, Felix is able to not only manipulate the earth around him but he can also heal wounds and even make plants grow. However, the healing of Venus only extends to wounds, not illnesses, and bones must still be set if they're broken.
For post The Lost Age settings: Following the lighting of the Mars Lighthouse and the restoration of Alchemy to his world, Felix's body stopped aging. This is due to being accidentally bathed in the full force of Alchemy's reborn might. Nothing else was changed, however. He's still the same as always.
FACECLAIM: Canon
Born in the quiet and hidden village of Vale at the base of the sacred volcano Mt Aleph, Felix always expected a peaceful life. The villagers, all part of an ancient clan of both Mars and Venus Adepts, lived quietly with the rules their ancestors had upheld for thousands of years. A culture that Felix held to without chafing too much, though he did rebel in subdued ways as he grew older. Once his younger sister, Jenna, was born he developed a rather overprotective nature, worrying about her often when he would work in the fields while she was back in the village proper.
Still, he never interfered in her growing friendships with other children, only worrying that she may get hurt.
The years went by, with Felix developing his Psynergy as a Venus Adept albeit at a slower pace than most others in Vale. But he didn't mind, instead taking pride in how quickly Jenna's own Psynergy as a Mars Adept presented itself. As long as his family was happy and safe, Felix would never care about how slow his abilities were in comparison.
And then, tragedy struck.
One night when Felix was seventeen a sudden and ferocious storm struck Mt Aleph and Vale, reaching no other lands beyond there. The supernatural nature of the storm was clear, the rain swiftly flooding the river that went through the village from a gentle and lazy current to dangerous rapids. And Felix was caught right in the middle, having been searching for something left on the dock attached to his house earlier that day. In an instant he was caught by the waves, swept from the crumbling wood into the river he had never learned to swim in. Of course, even had he learned to swim it would have been useless against the deadly currents. All he could do was cling to a broken stump in the river, desperately trying to keep his head above the water while his parents and the parents of Isaac, one of Jenna's friends, tried to save him. But it would be for naught, for the storm dislodged a great boulder that had rested at the peak of Mt Aleph since time immemorial. None in Vale had the strength to hold the boulder back as it fell, crashing through the village and striking the dock and river.
To the others in the village, Felix, his parents, and Isaac's father were killed. Swept away by the river to drown and be lost forever.
However fate had other plans in store.
Felix and the others were pulled from the river by the most unlikely of people. Saturos and Menardi, the only survivors of a group of people who had tried to break into Sol Sanctum that night. Thieves they may have been but neither of the two had intended the tragedy that unfolded, wishing only to obtain the treasure sealed away in the sacred temple. Knowing they would be imprisoned if they revealed themselves to Vale now by returning the ones they saved, they took Felix and the adults with them back to their ship.
There was only one option: to return to their village of Prox in the far northern wastes with the people they had saved, now as their captives.
Three years passed, during the time Felix was forbidden from training in either Psynergy or swordsmanship due to the rebellious nature he kept hidden that Saturos easily identified. Another attempt to take the Elemental Stars was planned and, having learned from their mistakes, Saturos and Menardi brought Felix with them for the eventual lighting of the Venus Lighthouse. With them traveled the Mercury Adept Alex, a traitor to his clan at the base of the Mercury Lighthouse in the hamlet of Imil. So the small party set out, with Felix's obedience secured with his parents remaining behind in Prox. Once in Vale, Felix donned a mask to hide his identity from the villagers who would surely have recognized him despite believing he had been dead for years. The group tricked the scholar Kraden and his students, consisting of Isaac and Jenna, into entering Sol Sanctum ahead of them, following at a close distance the whole while.
Only once Isaac uncovered the secret chamber of the temple where the Stars rested did they reveal themselves.
Menardi took Jenna and Kraden captive and, with Felix's identity revealed, used them as leverage to force Isaac to hand over the Stars he had collected. Three, except for Mars. Once Isaac removed the Mars Star from its resting place, however, another trap was triggered in the mountain. The magma long sealed by the powers of the four Stars began to stir, an eruption was imminent. Knowing another disaster was imminent, the Proxian group fled, with Jenna and Kraden still as hostages.
From there the chase was on.
Across Angara the group raced, soon reaching the northeastern lands where the Mercury Lighthouse waited. And as they journeyed, Felix's rebellious nature grew stronger as his resentment built. For he hated the idea of his sister being involved in the quest, hated her being at constant risk of harm. But with his skills little better than that of a child's, he could do nothing but seethe and obey.
Eventually it came to a head soon after Saturos and Menardi took another captive in the Suhalla Desert of northern Gondowan: Sheba, a young girl from Lalivero. Felix had privately promised her that he would protect her no matter what, and so at the top of the Venus Lighthouse the strained unity fell apart.
And soon after the Lighthouse, now lit, would bring about a cataclysm.
Sheba fell from the Lighthouse, and Felix leapt after her heedless of the danger. Had the seas not risen to catch the two as they fell, death would have been certain.
From there... Felix's journey to light the remaining Lighthouses began.
