Dropbox installer fails, saying "The installer could not connect to the Internet. Ensure that your computer is connected to the Internet and your firewall allows DropboxUpdate.exe to connect then try again".

So I tried installing using the Dropbox offline installer. I was able to install Dropbox, but when I try to start it, it still says "No internet connection. Your computer is currently offline. Please check your network settings."

whenever I try to open the Dropbox app, it give me an error "No internet connection: Your computer is currently offline. Please check your network settings". I've tried un-installing, then re-installing the app, no luck. The app was opening earlier, but when it was having some sync problems, I signed out then back in......thats when the app no longer would load at all.

Suddenly, my computer downloads all folders to be offline-folders, this off course fills my hard drive instantly makes working impossible.

And a bigger problem is that I don't anymore see the option "make online-only" when I right-click the folders, only the option "send with Dropbox tranfer"

I've been having the same problem for two days. I don't remember doing any system change. I've tried re-installing yesterday and it worked. But when I booted up my computer today, it's the same problem.

This is getting frustrating.

I'm just glad I held off on getting that paid subscription.

My guess is that it may be power settings on your computer that is causing the issue. There are other articles that came up in a search, but this WiFi Keeps Disconnecting article, contains several different things to check. It's quite technical, but provides instructions for Windows 10.

I'd still look though at your computer's power savings. And double-check any network or power saving settings on printer settings as well. Look for options such as "wake on network access" or similar-worded features and ensure they are enabled.

I got my HP Envy 4500 Series printer about a year ago, and have just been printing through the USB cable. Just recently I decided to use wireless printing. I set it all up and the wireless button is a steady blue, and the printer says it is wireless. The problem is when I try to print something, my computer says the printer is offline. How do I fix this?

Hello,

I am contemplating upgrading from Cubase 11 Pro. But I have a concern. I am aware that once we have activated a computer on Cubase 12, we are not required to reconnect to the internet for refreshing. However, in my case, my main console has no connection to the internet at all; nor do I intend to attempt to connect it.

The same thing sometimes happens on Web when I surf Deezer community and I found out once it loads lots of deezer widgets the Deezer web app can fail in playback even, or show this offline message. This can be also because of my free net which is 10 Mbs only. Hope this helps.

I just wanted to share my experience regarding the frustrating message "Your computer seems to be offline. We'll keep trying to connect." I've been encountering the same issue, even though I'm confident that my computer is not offline. It's been quite a nuisance, especially while using Deezer on my Firefox 82.

However, I managed to find a solution that worked for me, and I thought I'd pass it along. I went into my DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials add-on and made some configurations. Specifically, I added deezer.com to the list of unprotected sites. Surprisingly, this resolved the problem, and now I can use Deezer without constantly being prompted about my computer's offline status.

I have downloaded all of my Spotify playlists for offline playback on one of my computers. However, my other computer is in a location with a really slow internet connection, but I'd still like to play the same offline playlists (logging into the same Spotify Premium account as on my other computer) there as well. Is this possible without having to re-download everything on the slow internet connection?

Theoretically it would be possible by copying the cache (you can see where it is stored under Edit>Preferences) onto the other computer. However the account logged in must be premium; and make sure the cache location on the new computer is set to the location where you paste the cache folder from the old one.

In addittion copying the Storage folder resulted in the original computer having to re-sync all the offline files. Some songs it just quickly scanned and made immediately available for offline use, which makes sense the files were already on the HDD. However other songs it had to download all over again, despite them still existing in the Storage folder.

I don't know if there's a work-around for this, but it'd be nice to have a feature where you don't have to download the same files over the net for every computer where you use the same account of Spotify. So long as the account is connected to the net when the music is being played, as per normal offline usage rules, why prevent the cache files from being transferred locally from one computer to another? That would save a lot of bandwidth from both the user and Spotify.

Sorry to hear this didn't work. I suggest you submit this as an idea to the community; and hopefully Spotify can implement a way to do this officially! There is a risk however it can't be implemented due to piracy protection (as you can only have offline files on a max of 3 PCs and that feature may be impossible to implement safely).

I used ArcGIS Pro most of the day without issue. At one point I restarted my computer, and I have not been able to use the program since. Prior to restarting, I changed the name of my computer (settings - system - about - rename this PC). Assuming this was the issue, I changed the name back to what it was and restarted the computer - no change. I attempted a system restore from before a Windows update two days ago; however, the update failed because it could restore iCloud Drive.

My guess is that you originally used an account from ArcGIS Online (AGOL) to log into ArcGIS Pro. At some point, you took the licenses offline which means you stored the licenses locally on your machine to be used without access to AGOL. Pro will start without having to sign in at this point. When you changed your computer name, that likely broke the locally stored license. The problem is the account you used still has an offline status. If you used the account to log into Pro on any machine, it will always give you that error message. You can go to www.arcgis.com and log in with an account with administrative access to see the status of all members of the organization.

I am a little bit confused, however, because I can search my computer for NI MAX and I am able to find it and open it as an app, but I cannot find NI VISA in the same way and I am only able to locate a folder in documents with the same name that appears to contain help files.

I had enabled offline file sync for a network share. I have since deleted the offline copy, by essentially doing what's described here. However, the computer still shows up under Offline Files Folder > Computers, even after reboot. It's the only computer listed. There are currently no files available for offline access. How can that computer be removed from the list?

Note If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password or click Continue.Locate the following registry subkey, and then right-click it:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\CSCPoint to New, and then click Key.Type Parameters in the box.Right-click Parameters, point to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit)Value.Type FormatDatabase, and then press Enter.Right-click FormatDatabase, and then click Modify. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

Yes. Two possibilities.

If your license is in the Cloud Zoo, make sure you start Rhino and renew the license lease just before leaving. You will then have around two weeks in which you can use Rhino while offline.

I need a fastest way to check whether remote computer is off. There are some ways I've tried, but none of them gives me desired time speed (it should be less than 0.5 sec and it's critical, because occurs on context menu popup)

Given the fact that it is just for one computer, why don't you have the logic on your answer running on a separate thread and caching the state of the computer? Your context popup would be reading from this cache and reacting "instantaneously", but the exact state could be a few seconds delayed... Now, depending on what you are doing with the computer afterwards (you did not mention in the answer), this might be an approach to consider...

Because you're depending on so many factors (Network loads, Packet losses etc`), and additionally, when a computer is not responding immediately when he gets the request doesn't necessarily says it's online, you can't assume the computer is offline.I don't think you can do it any faster than a ping request.

If your Deep Security deployment has a large number of offline computers not communicating with the Deep Security Manager, first try using a connector (see About adding AWS accounts, Add a Microsoft Azure account to Deep Security, or Add a Google Cloud Platform account). When you use a connector, the complete life cycle of your computers is managed automatically, meaning that computers deleted from your cloud accounts are also automatically removed from Deep Security. If you can't use a connector in your environment, you can automate the removal of inactive computers using inactive agent cleanup. Inactive agent cleanup will check hourly for computers that have been offline and inactive for a specified period of time (from 2 days to 12 months) and remove them.

If you have offline computers that are active but communicate irregularly with the Deep Security Manager, inactive agent cleanup will remove them if they don't communicate within the period of inactivity you defined. To ensure that these computers reconnect to Deep Security Manager, we recommend enabling both Agent-Initiated Activation and Reactivate unknown Agents. To do so, under System Settings > Agents > Agent Initiated Activation, first select Allow Agent-Initiated Activation and then select Reactivate Unknown Agents. 0852c4b9a8
