My name is Rachel Howe, and this will be my seventh year teaching fourth grade at Oak Forest Elementary. I was so fortunate to start my career with the OFE Family after graduating from The University of Texas in 2013 (Hook’em Horns!). The outstanding students, parents, and staff drew me to Oak Forest, and I can’t imagine having a classroom anywhere else. I am passionate about creating a true sense of community in my classroom that fosters values students need both inside and outside of school. Fourth grade holds a special place in my heart because it was my favorite year of elementary school, and I work to create that same memorable experience for my students. I think of my two fourth grade teachers almost every day and am humbled by the reminder that what we do for kids today can truly impact their future.
My husband, Justin, and I love to travel as often as possible. We have an adorable pup named Odie that you will likely hear me talk about all the time; I apologize in advance! Other interests of mine include cooking (I love watching the Pioneer Woman!), decorating our home for holidays (Joanna Gaines is my spirit animal), and losing myself in my never-ending booklist (receiving book recommendations is another joy of mine; don’t hesitate to send one my way!).
I am so excited about the start of the school year and getting to know all of our students and families!
