Hello! I am Julie Gould, and I am very excited to begin my first year here at Oak Forest Elementary. This will be my fourth year teaching within HISD. I have been teaching for 16 years in Pre-K -12 grade as a substitute teacher, preschool director, physical education teacher, and a classroom teacher.

I am originally from Michigan, where I earned my degrees in Recreation (Northern Michigan University) and Elementary Education (Grand Valley State University). I have lived in about every region of the state of Michigan, except the thumb area. I was living in Sault Ste. Marie, MI prior to moving to Houston six years ago. I am the proud mother of two grown children, Danny (24) and Toria (21). Danny is a State Trooper in Michigan, and Toria is attending Finlandia University in Hancock, MI.

I live with my husband Mark, dog Daisy, and two rescue cats, (I couldn’t help myself!) Thor and Sasha. I enjoy camping, boating, kneeboarding, swimming, and relaxing around the water.

I am looking forward to a wonderful year at OFE!
