CAREERS ADVICE FOR ROSSA PLAYERS

Nurturing Rossa's future

At the core of the GAA ethos is the desire to support and nurture our young people to achieve all their goals.

O'Donovan Rossa accepts this responsibility with open arms from the day a 4 year old arrives at their first fundamentals training session.

As our players grow throughout the club we recognise the challenges modern life will present in each player path.

It is widely accepted that between the ages of 15 and 18 is the window when players drop of from participating in our games and it can be no coincidence that it is at this stage the real world starts knocking on their door.

Our Mission

In recognising the challenges ahead, Rossa is seeking to prepare our young people for all stages of their life.

While our games can give players social and leadership skills, we feel our memberships experiences could also provide real life insight to how these skills can be fostered and used of the pitch.

Developing a Programme

On Thursday 8th April 2021 Rossa will host a Zoom call for our young members where they will have an opportunity to hear the lived experiences and career paths of our members. On the panel we will hear from a range of occupations - both academic and vocational.

This call will be the first step in developing an engagement programme between our young players and the potential of networking opportunities across the Rossa membership.
