Professor Martin Lukac, from Reading University, talked about the natural carbon cycle and sinks, putting numbers on the natural flows and inventories, then put the magnitude of manmade emissions of carbon in to the global context. He described the ecosystem cycle both above and below ground and discussed the impacts forestry and agriculture could have to increase the carbon sequestered.the Carbon Cycle and Storage on land, and what we can do to encourage this natural process to offset our own emissions.

Brenda Ainsley, is a Climate Reality Leader (Climate Reality is an organisation founded by Al Gore) and a U3A Eco leader.
Brenda is planning to arrange for the U3A to have a presence at COP26 in Glasgow with possibly a U3A/Countdown to COP stand in the Science Museum and a podcast which will be made available through the U3A radio channel on YouTube.
Brenda Ainsley, talked about the 'Climate Crisis and Some Solutions', to a combined audience of Odiham, Fleet, Farnham and Camberley u3as.
