Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026
Octave Challenge values your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how Octave Challenge handles information when you use the app. Octave Challenge is a casual entertainment app that uses your device microphone to detect singing pitch, display notes and octaves, record challenge sessions, save local challenge history, and manage optional recordings.

The app does not ask for your name, phone number, address, email address, or login information.
The app does not upload your voice recordings to the developer’s server.
The app does not use cloud sync.

Microphone Permission
Octave Challenge requests microphone access only for core app features.
The microphone is used to:
Detect your singing pitch in real time
Display your current note, octave, and frequency
Track your highest note during a challenge
Record your challenge session when you choose to record
Microphone access starts only after you grant permission and start a challenge or recording feature.
The app does not record audio in the background.
The app does not secretly record audio.
The app does not transmit microphone audio to the developer or any external server.
Recordings
When you choose to record a challenge session, the audio recording is saved locally on your device.
Your recordings remain on your device unless you choose to share or export them using your device’s sharing options.
You can delete saved recordings from within the app.
Octave Challenge does not automatically upload, analyze, or share your recordings with the developer or third parties.
Challenge History
Octave Challenge may save basic challenge history locally on your device.
This may include:
Date and time of a challenge
Highest note detected
Highest frequency detected
Hold time

Recording reference, if a recording was saved
This information is stored locally on your device and is used only to show your own history and progress inside the app.

The app uses app-specific storage and Android sharing features when you choose to export or share a recording.
The app does not use broad external storage access for your personal files.
Advertising
Octave Challenge may display advertisements in the free version of the app.
The app uses Google AdMob to serve ads, including app open ads, interstitial ads, and native ads.
Google AdMob may collect or process certain information in accordance with Google’s own policies, such as:

App activity related to ad delivery and performance
Approximate location inferred by Google or ad services
Diagnostics and crash-related information related to ad delivery
This information is processed by Google AdMob and its advertising partners according to their own privacy policies and applicable laws.

You may also manage ad personalization through your Google account or Android device settings.
Payments and Subscriptions
Octave Challenge may offer optional paid features, such as removing ads, unlimited recordings, recording export, and local backup/export features.

Third-Party Services
Octave Challenge may use the following third-party services:
Google AdMob for advertising
Google Play Billing for optional subscriptions or in-app purchases
These third-party services may collect or process information according to their own privacy policies and terms.
Children’s Privacy
Octave Challenge is not specifically directed at children.
The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Entertainment Disclaimer
Octave Challenge is designed for casual entertainment and personal singing challenges.
The app is not a medical, healthcare, diagnostic, or professional vocal training service.
The app does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or health measurements.
Pitch and octave results may vary depending on device microphone quality, background noise, singing environment, and recording conditions.
Data Sharing
Octave Challenge does not upload your recordings or local challenge history to the developer’s server.
When ads are shown, Google AdMob may process information for ad delivery, fraud prevention, measurement, and personalization where permitted.
When you manually share a recording or result card using your device’s share menu, the selected receiving app or service may process that shared content according to its own privacy policy.
Data Deletion
You can delete saved recordings and challenge history inside the app.
Uninstalling the app may also remove locally stored app data, depending on your device and Android system behavior.
Because Octave Challenge does not require an account and does not upload your recordings or local challenge history to a developer server, there is no separate cloud account or server-side profile to delete.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.
Any changes will be posted on this page or reflected in the app store listing.
Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
