The Ocean County Sheriff's Office offers challenging and rewarding career opportunities for those who are committed to serving the public. Positions include Deputies, Dispatchers, Forensic Specialists, and many other civilian jobs.
Sheriff's Office Cadet: Prior to becoming a Deputy at the Ocean County Sheriff's Office, all recruits enter the San Andreas Law Enforcement Academy under the rank of Cadet. A Cadet is a person who has been appointed to complete the basic training necessary to become a Deputy. Both Cadets and Deputies must meet the Department's Eligibility Requirements and pass the Academy in order to be hired onto the department.
After being hired on. Deputies will undergo ridealongs with trained higher ranking deputies. These MUST be completed before a Deputy is promoted out of Probationary Deputy and into the patrol division.

Ride Along Completion
Dispatchers- Employed by Ocean County who handle the receiving, transmitting, maintaining, and coordinating public safety information between the Emergency Services Departments of within Ocean County.
Civilian Ride Along Program(CLOSED)- Program where citizens of the county of Ocean can ride with Deputies on a regular patrol day where the Citizen(s) are able to experience and learn what the Deputies do in their duties as a Ocean County Sheriff's Office Deputy. In order to apply for this program you must pass a series of background checks and pass our small exam to get some more information to match you with a Deputy as a ride-along partner.
