1. INTRODUCTION

OCR - Image To Text ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application ("App"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this privacy policy, please do not access the App.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2.1 Camera Access

We request camera permission solely to capture images for text recognition (OCR). Images captured through the camera are processed entirely on your device using on-device machine learning. These images are NOT uploaded, transmitted, or stored on any external server. Temporary image files created during processing are automatically deleted after text extraction is complete.

2.2 Storage Access

We request storage/media access to allow you to:

- Import images from your device gallery for text recognition

- Save exported files (TXT and PDF) to your device storage

We do not access, read, modify, or delete any files on your device other than those you explicitly select or create through the App.

2.3 Scan History

Your scan history (extracted text, timestamps, and previews) is stored locally on your device using an on-device database (Room/SQLite). This data is never transmitted to any external server. You can delete individual scans or your entire history at any time from within the App.

2.4 App Preferences

Your app settings and preferences (theme mode, language selection, etc.) are stored locally on your device using Android DataStore. This data never leaves your device.

2.5 Advertising Data

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements within the App. Google AdMob may collect and use certain information including:

- Device advertising identifier

- Device information (model, OS version)

- General location information (based on IP address)

- App usage data

This data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. We do not share any personal data with advertisers beyond what Google AdMob collects automatically.

3. DATA PROCESSING

All text recognition (OCR) is performed entirely on your device using Google ML Kit's on-device text recognition engine. This means:

- No images are sent to any server for processing

- No extracted text is transmitted to any external service

- The App works fully offline for its core OCR functionality

- Internet access is only required for displaying advertisements

4. DATA STORAGE

All app data is stored locally on your device:

- Scan history: Stored in a local SQLite database

- App preferences: Stored in Android DataStore

- Exported files: Saved to your device's Documents folder

We do not maintain any external databases, cloud storage, or remote servers for user data.

5. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

Our App uses the following third-party services:

5.1 Google ML Kit (On-Device)

Used for text recognition processing. All processing happens on your device. No data is sent to Google servers for ML Kit text recognition.

5.2 Google AdMob

Used for displaying advertisements within the App. AdMob may collect device and usage data as described in Google's advertising privacy policy.

6. DATA SHARING

We do not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with third parties except:

- Through Google AdMob's standard advertising data collection as described above

- If required by law or to comply with legal obligations

7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. The App is designed for general audiences. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

8. DATA SECURITY

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:

- All data is stored locally on your device

- No sensitive data is transmitted over the internet

- The App does not collect or store passwords, financial information, or other sensitive personal data

9. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

- Scan history can be deleted at any time from within the App (individually or all at once)

- App preferences are reset when you clear the App's data

- Uninstalling the App will remove all locally stored data completely

- Temporary files (captured images for processing) are deleted immediately after use

10. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to:

- Access your scan history within the App

- Delete your scan history at any time

- Export your scanned text data

- Uninstall the App to remove all associated data

- Opt out of personalized advertising through your device's ad settings

11. PERMISSIONS SUMMARY

The App requests the following permissions:

- Camera: To capture images for text recognition (required for camera scan feature)

- Storage/Media: To import images and save exported files (required for gallery import and file export)

- Internet: Required only for displaying advertisements (not for core OCR functionality)

- Network State: To check connectivity for ad loading

The App does NOT:

- Record audio or video in the background

- Access your contacts, messages, or call logs

- Track your location

- Run any background services

- Collect any hidden data

12. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the updated version of the App with a new "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
