This schedule reflects the weekly hours that the Thing Tank is staffed by our Object Design Educational Arts Technician (EAT) or our Studio Assistant (SA).
During these hours, students in the First Year Object Design (OBDF110) classes have access to the Thing Tank.
This introductory course provides a comprehensive overview of the field. Through theory, hands-on projects, and exploration of CAD, 3D modeling, computer-aided manufacturing, and digital fabrication, students gain a foundational understanding of object design. They develop basic technical proficiency while exploring theoretical and contextual aspects within art, craft, design, and technology. Studio-based projects enable experimentation with rapid prototyping technologies, fostering an understanding of design possibilities. By course end, students are ready for further exploration and advanced courses in the concentration.
Prepare yourself for an extraordinary semester. Yay, art! Yay, design! Yay, cats!
